Looking at buying a 5' rotary cutter. Priced a Landpride at $1875.00.
King Kutter around $1000 - $1100.00.
I know the differences of metal thickness and such, but $700 - $800 difference?
King Kutter a good brand? I like to get owner opinions.

Which LP RC? The 1260? Looking at some of my old bids, I was quoted $1100 for a RC1260. I dont own one (yet) but figured I would chime in on pricing.

We have both and I much prefer the Land Pride, well worth the extra money for me.

make sure you're comparing apples to apples when it comes to price. So many different models that look alike on the surface but huge difference in quality. One could have a slip clutch and the other doesn't which makes a price difference.

I'm with Ridger though, you should look at Modern Ag implements. Friend of mine is a dealer and I really like the looks of their products. If I buy another new cutter most likely it will be a Modern. Very well built and rust free which would be a huge factor if it's going to sit out in the weather.

I have a 4ft KK brush mower and it has done just fine for my purposes. If you are going to be doing commercial acreage mowing, you will probably be better of with a LP or something comparable. If it is something you are going to use around your property a couple times a year, the KK will do the job. I have had mine for about 15 years and the paint is pretty much all gone, but it still works. It is stored outdoors, so that doesn't help its longevity either.

I've got a KK and no complaints with it. They make some models heavier built than others and mine is a heavier one with leveling links and domed deck with stump jumper but other brands like Woods, Bush Hog, LP etc are going to be better for hard use.
