I have a L4200, and the front wheels no longer engage into 4x4. I have replaced the couplers on the prop shaft and made certain the axle fluid was full, but it didn't fix the issue. While I had the prop shaft off, I did notice that the gear bevel assembly connected to the front axle spun freely. Is this normal? I also noticed axle fluid leaking from that area. Any information is appreciated. Thanks

With the front tires off the ground, can you turn the propeller shaft with the shifter in the 4x4 position?

Yes, with both tires off the ground, the 4 wheel drive engaged the prop shaft out, I was able to spin the gear bevel assembly. I don't recall being able to spin the shaft with it in and engaged.

With the Propeller shaft installed, 4wd engaged, both front tires off the ground.
See if when you can spin one front tire the the other spins the opposite direction, and that the propeller shaft does not spin.
Then put on tire on the ground and try it again.
If you can spin either tire and the propeller shaft is not spinning you have something broken in the front axle, most likely the differential, but it could also be one of the axle drive cases has a problem.

If at any point the propeller shaft spins then you have something wrong in the rear.
