I will be buying a B3030 tomorrow with about 350 hours on it. No service history on it since the dealer bought it from auction other than they replaced part of the power steering (sales guy called it a 'pump' but I think he meant either controller or solenoid), new battery and they installed a block heater.

I will check for aftermarket filters and whatnot, but I am guessing, sight unseen, that it may still need its 300 hour maintenance. As far as I can tell, that would include

-engine oil + filter
-front axle case oil
-hydraulic oil + filter
-transmission fluid + filter + strainer (?)

Guessing I could tell if some of these need to be changed or if they were not long ago by how they look and feel. Sounds like it will cost around $300 for the materials, another $300+ for labor to have this all done.

I am capable of doing these myself, but are any of these things especially challenging or need special tools?

-engine oil + filter (DO IT YOURSELF - ABOUT 30 BUCKS)
-front axle case oil (NOT SURE HOW MUCH IT TAKES - DO IT YOURSELF!)
-hydraulic oil + filter (AGAIN NOT SURE OF THE AMOUNT, BUT DOING IT IS NOT THAT BAD)
-transmission fluid + filter + strainer (?) NOT SURE IF THE TRANS AND HYDRAULIC ARE NOT SAME, FILTER IS EASY - STRAINER IS REAL EASY......AFTER THE OIL IS DRAINED!;):)

There is nothing hard about any of this, hard part is trying to keep fluids IN while changing just the filter or screen.....BUT if you are draining ALL fluids, find a large pan, level ground and about a good hour to sit and relax! - you will be money ahead and feel like a million!:)
