Good morning all,
New to this site and hoping to draw on everyone's experience. I have an old old b7100 (really not sure of its age). Everything seems to work fine but the 3 point hitch linkage had seen better days so I decided to buy new. In order to fit it I need to get the old centre bar/shaft out than the lower link Arms attach to so I can fit the new one. I cannot seem to shift it even after soaking it everyday for a week with penetrating oil. I was wondering if anyone knows of any tricks to move it?
Thanks in advance for any advice

You will have to remove the three-point top cover to remove the snap ring and get the new shaft in time with an arm (#14).

50/50 mix of acetone and ATF(Auto tranny Fluid) works better than any commercial 'penetrating fluid'. heat the bar if possible, then add 50/50,whack a few times, more 50/50/heat/whacks. Might take an hour, might take a day(patience is rewarded....)

What is the reason for trying to remove it. If it is a solid bar, then it must be a press fit, and intended to stay with the tractor. Have you considered that the 3 point hitch that you purchased isn't correct for your machine? Get the parts list for your tractor and buy the parts that you need to repair yours, and return the one that you purchased, since it clearly isn't for your tractor.

Hi all,
Thanks for the responses. I did check when I purchased it that it was suitable for the B7100 however, I guess that if it is a press fit that would explain it. My understanding was that it was a removable component. Thanks again.

In the b7100 it is a free sliding bar so it should just slide out.

Try putting a pin in the hole in the end and tapping that also to get the bar to turn, that along with any penetrating fluid may break the rust/ crud seal.
