Been there done that, ran it on the tractor and the bobcat.Just looking to use the attachments I already have, also have a 50 rear blower however the blade would make slushy snow cleanup easier. After consideration, the height of the attachment point would probably put quite a bit of stress on the loader arms.
Thank you to those that replied, sometimes I need to think things through out loud so to speak.
Dedicated front blades not only have a trip edge but the also shoes/ skids to help them from digging in.I am curious about the "it digs in and won't float" comment - why? Is it due to weight? Surely a dedicated front blade with trip edge made for scraping snow weighs more than this plate and my rear blade. Will they not float either?
Ok this is the one task that the front 3 point mount excelled at, I had it spun around and was able to reach out and grab duff out of places. One of the many stalled projects here is an adapter to go QA/3P for the loader. The main purpose will be a place to grab the landscape rake so I can reach into the fence row and drag brush out of it. So far I have a frame made of 1/4" wall 2x2 galvanized square tube. Priorities move around for me, but one of these days...............
That's exactly what I was thinking. I want to tidy up a fence row. Being able to reach into poison ivy and drag stuff out will be nice. My DeWalt pole saw will take care of creating headroom for the cab.Ok this is the one task that the front 3 point mount excelled at, I had it spun around and was able to reach out and grab duff out of places.
It was the real only win for this adapter.
If you hit anything solid you're going to break something!
Snow blades and dozer blades made for the loader have trip edges or blades to keep them from doing damage to the loader, mount, or blade.
reminds me of the 3/4T chevy doing a mall, back in '75. zip, zip, zip back and forth real FASt untill..... he caught a parking 'tombstone', did 360-540 + REAL IMPRESSIVE.... his plow buddy TOWED what was left away....+1 on this.
I have never used a blade on my tractors FEL, but when I hit something with my "truck plow" and that blade slams down, it scares the hell out of me, but I am damn glad it "trips over" instead of being solid.
Its a pretty "violent" sound for sure.
I made that adapter 25-30 yrs ago. That's what I want!
