I know this is a kubota forum...But i'm stuck between these 2 tractors.

Kubota recommends 3200RPM for operating. Massey is closer to 2500. Seems like the Massey lift capacity is about 50lbs more and they advertise they can lift at idle and the Kubota folks recommend lifting at a higher RPM.

Right now the Kubota is about 1500 cheaper and 0% for 60. And there are NUMEROUS happy customers that swear by them.

The Massey has dual pedals for forward and reverse and the kubota has a heel/toe pedal.

Anybody drove both and care to share their thoughts???? I expect a lot of votes for the Kubota on here, but this is a pretty diverse group and i expect some have driven both.

I had my heart set on the kubota until a neighbor told me to go check out the Massey. Now i'm torn.

50# more isn't much and if you are looking for loader capability you would probably be going with a bigger tractor anyway.
The Kubota loader works at low engine speeds, but at reduced speeds and capacity. This is sometimes desired as it gives you finer control over the movements. I suspect the Massey is the same and also has reduced speeds and capacity at low engine speeds. The hydraulic pumps are positive displacement so capacity of the pump is a function off speed in any hydraulic system.

Right now the Kubota is about 1500 cheaper and 0% for 60. And there are NUMEROUS happy customers that swear by them.

The $1500 could be used to buy implements to increase the productivity or your tractor. It will not take long before you will want another implement and another implement....

The Massey has dual pedals for forward and reverse and the kubota has a heel/toe pedal.

This is pretty much getting use to the tractor you buy.

Anybody drove both and care to share their thoughts???? I expect a lot of votes for the Kubota on here, but this is a pretty diverse group and i expect some have driven both.

I can't help you with a comparison as I have never driven a Massey. I would guess you will be happy with which ever one you buy and will soon wonder why you waited so long.

I had my heart set on the kubota until a neighbor told me to go check out the Massey. Now i'm torn.
Good luck with your soon to be new tractor.

I sell both makes at my dealership! Last year massey had 0% for 84 months plus the five year power train warranty.

That was for people looking to get into a low $200's with zero down.

Right now Kubota has the advantage on price and now the 6 year powertrain warranty. It's a easy choice with dealer support being better, more units sold by far.

The only thing that bugs me is the hood and lower cowl removal for maintenance plus the grill guard. I hope this goes away when the new BX series comes out late this year.

Our dealership sells Massey, among other things. We are NOT a Kubota dealer. That being said, I have a new BX at home. It is my own opinion that the two are pretty comparable to each other. However, I have way more faith that the BX will be better supported down the road. The little Massey is a minor sideline for Agco where as the BX is a staple for Kubota. That was my thinking, anyways. ;)

Both are good tractors with similar features and performance, either will serve you well. In our area AGCO is hit or miss, mostly miss with poor service; bought one years ago.

As to the pedal arrangement, we've run both over the years, have BX and JD1025R, I don't have trouble either, now my wife hates side by side, don't know why.

Now if you step up to the 1715, I'd go with it if I had a decent dealer.

For some reason this answer to my question made me laugh...lol

I think i've settled on the Kubota. Hopefully i'll take delivery tomorrow. GREAT incentives right now.

2370 with a 54" non drive over, non fine cut MMM and a loader. 6 yr warranty, 0% for 60 for $13,100. Can't beat that. At least not around here anyway.

This forum was a big help in making my decision.

Kubota recommends 3200RPM for operating.

THIS IS WOT - THIS IS ALSO HIGHER THAN 540 PTO RPMS TOO.....

Massey is closer to 2500. NOT SURE THIS IS A POSITIVE THING, DIESELS ARE TORQUE PRODUCERS AT DIFFERENT RPM'S - IF THE MF IDLES AT 1200 RPMS, AND MAX'S OUT AT 2500, THAT IS A VERY NARROW BAND, KUBOTA IDLES AT 1400 AND REAL WOT IS CLOSER TO 3400 RPM'S - THAT IN ITSELF IS MORE OF A USABLE BANDWIDTH.

Seems like the Massey lift capacity is about 50lbs more and they advertise they can lift at idle and the Kubota folks recommend lifting at a higher RPM.

A 3 CENT SHIM AND THE KUBOTA LIFTS A MUCH MORE THAN STANDARD SPECS.

TAKE THAT $$$ AND SPEND IT ON SOMETHING ELSE !!!;)

The Massey has dual pedals for forward and reverse and the kubota has a heel/toe pedal.

PERSONALLY I THINK KUBOTA HAS IT RIGHT, THE PEDALS SIDE BY SIDE IN MY OPINION ARE BASSACKWARDS ......IF IN A PANIC SITUATION, YOU HIT THE LEFT ONE AND NOT THE RIGHT ONE OR WHATEVER......

AND I UNDERSTAND LARGE BOOTS COULD BE A PROBLEM WITH ROCKER STYLE, I LIKE THE TOE HEAL METHOD, IT MAKES SENSE.:)

It all comes down to your dealers, because those are the two best brands of tractor you can buy. The Massey is a rock solid tractor also.

Either way, you will be very happy.

I like both Brands. You need to operate both machines for more than 5 minutes to make up your mind. Yes, Massey hydraulics operate faster at lower RPMs.

In my mind, Kubota has the SCUT market locked down with the BX. Awesome machines with tons and tons more support. Massey makes some insane high HP machines that have more features than my GMC.

Dealer is also very important with a brand new machine. Warranty issues and stuff like that. For $1500 cheaper, its a no-brainer.
