Tire and wheel options for the 7100.....DONE!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going after these for the rear, 9.5 16 Titan Dura Torq.
All the 9.5 16s that I have found on the net have a stated retail of nearly $600.......gotta see what my local retailer can do for price.

Found a 8x16 wheel for the front of a Ford what will fit. $100

I'm also considering the Goodyear 9.5 16

Found a 7x12 wheel for the front. $35

I'm considering the Trupower 23x8.5x12 for the front. $100. The only thing that steers me away from this tire is the possibility of the outside cutting into the turf in a turn.

I'm also considering the 6x12 by Titan $200. But I will need to find a 5x12 wheel, I found one but they want $125 each.......I'll keep looking. This tire looks more friendly in the turns as the tread is more rounded at the sidewall but it also appears far more aggressive, more cutting on the forward pull.

I have several different brands of ag tires and IMHO the long bar short bar Titans are the best of the bunch. By far my favorite of everything I have. Only draw back to them I would warn you about is on hard ground at certain speeds they ride very ruff. Other than that I say go for it.

Ismurphy,

I'd be interested in knowing where you found those front wheels for $35 (actually both front and rears).

I need to replace mine also.

Thanks,

Steve

I'm also looking to replace tires on my B6100 with R4's.

Currently I'm rolling:

Front 6-12 (23" dia.)
Rear 7-16 (29.2 dia.)
(diameters gleaned from Carlisle)

My Owner's manual lists this as the correct sizing for a B6100D. This would give me an effective rear/front ratio of 1.27, which is well outside the 0-5%
lead variance recommended. (why would Kubota set it up like this:confused:) The front does pull fairly hard in turns.
The owners manual (from kubotamanuals.com) also lists higher travelling speeds for a B6100 vs. B7100 despite the 7100 having 8-16 rears listed (again  ).

I've read on several threads that the front/rear ratio for a 7100 is 1.4664 and that a 6100 is the same. Both the 6100 and 7100 use the same 6-37 ring & pinion front & rear.

My plans are to swap to Trac Chiefs

Front 23-8.5-12 (23" dia.)
Rear 12-16.5 (32.8 dia.)

giving me a 1.42 ratio

So .... is the B6100D's ratio 1.4664 like its bigger brother, or is it different??

Doing a bunch of digging in the parts manual yielded the following:
12/25 is the front spur gear ratio and the rear uses a 55 tooth spur on the wheel side. All we need to know is how many teeth are on the Differential gear shaft (PN 6661115120). Of course the part numbers are all the same so we can be assured that 6100s and 7100s share the same ratio. There, answered my own question while typing this but figured I'd share the journey with y'all.

So all that's left is to ask you guys if I'm going too big for a 6100 in the rubber dept?

My B7100 still has the original front tires the Good Year 6-12's now measure 21.25" so most likely were around 21.5" when new not 23". The 8-16 rears were replaced at some point but with the original spec Good Year tires and now measure 30.5" I would guess they were around 31" when new.

Soooo...
Something's wrong.

Finally got my rear tires installed and lo and behold, I have major binding on my 6100D

Tires are as follows
Front Titan 6-12 Tru Power (RC 69.5")
Rear Carlisle 8-16 Farm Specialist (RC 99.5")
I measured the rolling circumferences, they are as stated above.

99.5 divided by 69.5 gives me a 1.43 ratio which should work fine given the front/rear ratio is supposed to be 1.464. Were there any variations in gear ratios that aren't covered in the online parts manual?

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what could be going on here (apart from me having tossed $400 out the window)?

Your numbers look correct.

What were your original tire sizes?

Any binding with old tires?
