A friend has an L175 with 13-6-16 turf (R3?) rear tires. He wants to switch to Ag (R1) tires. I’ve done some searches on Google and this site but haven’t come up with anything solid to give him on how to proceed. On the tractordata.com site I found the L175 spec’d with 8.4-24 rear Ag tires.

OK, that’s a start. Looks like he needs 8.4-24 (or something close to that) and a set of 24-inch wheels. Are wheels of a given width & diameter universal for Kubota tractors? I know is he has 6-bolt wheels (and so do I on both my Kubotas) but wonder if all 6-bolt are the same pattern and what about offset?

Reasonably priced new tires should be fairly easy to find online but what about wheels (rims & centers)? I looked on Ebay and what little there is there is pricey. I looked on tractorhouse.com but didn’t see anything there. I’d like to find a solution that doesn’t break the bank!

I'd suggest checking Craig's List.

Go to "for sale", "farm and garden". Check from "St.Joe", Mo to "south east kansas" to "tulsa" to "columbia". Might take some time and digging, but someone has tires and wheels they want you to have!!:D:D

Thanks D2Cat. I looked there some but will dig deeper. I found a pair of 11.2-24 and wonder if they are too big for the L175?

I used to have a Ford 9n/2n with 13.6-28 BF Goodrich Power Grips (I think original equipment was 10.00-28)and although over-sized for the tractor, I ran then for over 20 years with no problem before switching to turf tires for mowing.

Since the L175 is 2wd I guess any size that will physically fit the tractor is OK to use. Anyone know the tire size range for the L175?

The 11.2-24 would work fine, it's a 2wd with no tire matching issues.
