    Radiator leak ... JB Weld?

I have just done a soldered repair to the brass radiator on my B6000. The repair was to where the radiator cap neck joins the top tank. I have never done this type of repair before and I was a bit apprehensive after researching it on the internet. I used plumbers solder and flux and a...

Dealer literature containing hose length for part numbers available?

Honda take a contrasting approach to this issue. With hoses, for example, they normally tell you internal diameter, external diameter, length and hose specification. Where they do not tell you that information it can be derived from the part numbers which are very logical. It is one of the...

GR2100 Diesel Steer Axle Mounts Broken

The way that bracket is designed it looks like it is pretty much bound to flex at the 90 degree bends. I had a very similar problem with a clutch slave cylinder bracket on a race car. The factory approved fix was to weld in a couple of strengthening gussets. I think if I were tackling this...

    Suffering from the droop

I pulled the 3 point lift piston out today and, sure enough, the O ring seal was so worn out that prior to removing it from the piston I thought it was square in cross section. I ordered the piston O ring and the two others for the piston cover from my local dealer today at a total cost of 3...

    Suffering from the droop

OK. Thank you for your reply. It loos reasonably easy to replace. I think: 1. Remove cover 2. Push piston out using lift arms 3. Change O ring 4. Reassemble 5. Check operation. Check for oil leaks. Check trans oil level.

    Suffering from the droop

A little more research and I have found some better drawings of the control valve. Drawing does not show any hydraulic seals which seems odd to me. I have also discovered the actuating piston with O ring which must be another candidate for this fault.

    Suffering from the droop

I have a problem with the hydraulic lift on my B6000 in that it will not stay in the up position. I have a 330 lb tool on the three point hitch. The hydraulic fluid (transmission oil) is clean and of the correct spec. The lift has always been a little bit droopy in that if I parked the...

    Failed miserably

I use a piece of tube just under the correct diameter and then wind electrical tape around it until the clutch plate sits snugly on the tube. Any old piece of pipe hanging around in your workshop will do. It is not a high precision exercise.

Gear Oil change - Kubota B6000

I bought my B6000 about three years ago and changed the transmission oil straight after buying. The next trans oil change was 50 hours thereafter when the oil was hot effectively using the first oil fill to flush out any swarf/dirt/water/whatever. It's not cheap to do that given the B6000...

    top link question

I use stainless steel lock wire on both the top link and the check chains on the lower links. Many of you will know that lock wiring is commonly used on aeroplanes and race cars to prevent fasteners coming loose. Exactly the same techniques work for tractors. I only use one tool on the 3PT so...

What About Your Tractor Makes You Swear?

Nothing about my B6000 makes me want to swear. Probably one of the best vehicle purchases of my lifetime. Always ready to go. I don't make unreasonable demands and nothing to date has defeated it. It certainly punches above its weight. And I love the fact that it's old school with no...

    Garage/Shop Reorganization

My grease gun solution is put it in a plastic bag and then hang it up. Yesterday's project for me was sorting out music in the cave. It is a third system put together from bits and pieces hauled out of cardboard boxes. The amp is a Quad 405 made in England. The input is from an iPod and I am...

    B6000 Rotary Hoe / Tiller

I noticed on Palmiris' website with the S850 manual that he also has the B6000 owner's manual which is something new to me. I had the service manual and parts list for the B6000 but I learnt something new from the (US version) owner's manual. Specifically that the rate at which a rear mounted...

    Advice needed: B6000/B7000 models

The lower links are 58cm measured from the centre of one spherical joint to the other in a straight line. I do not know how that length compares with original Kubota lower links for either the B6000 or B6001 but it works fine with the Chokchai brush hog I have. I cannot give you the height...

    Advice needed: B6000/B7000 models

Sorry I cannot help with oil filter or air filter. The reason being the B6000 does not use disposable filters. It has a steel mesh oil filter and oil bath air filter. For my particular application, brush hogging around palm trees, the B6000 is IMO better than any of the new Kubotas available...

    Advice needed: B6000/B7000 models

I have a B6000 in Thailand that I have owned since 2011. You will find very little in the way of parts for a B6000 or a B6001 in this country. I have put around 300 hours on the B6000 in the last four years and I keep it running using a mix of parts imported from the USA and parts machined...

I want to even out my yard - what attachment to do it

Tilling on its own does not really work. It does a fine job of breaking up the soil but it does little in terms of moving the soil laterally.

I saw it, but no one believes me

Kubota did make some weird, complex and very expensive remote control diesel powered mowers that also had controls for manual operation. Wonder if it could be one of those. The idea was you sit in the shade operating it in a similar manner to an RC car. Don't think it would work for me. I am...
