    Help Identify Early Kubota Wheels

I checked the backspace, the depth of the wheel on the tractor side. It is 4-1/8". If that matches yours, that means this wheel is thinner. If it is less, that means this wheel will sit over 1" closer to your tractor.

It looks like these are a match. I cannot confirm the width with the tire mounted.

    Starter Issue

I added a relay to my old L245, the positive wire that fires the solenoid on it runs through the starter switch and all of the safety switches. Even after cleaning up all the connections the voltage dropped to 10.5v at the solenoid. This was not enough to reliably fire the tired solenoid. Run...

B2910 HST - Tractor will not move following a hydraulic leak

Do you have a work shop manual? Page 3-S1 has a flow chart for diagnosing the HST not moving. Also, I don't see anything about priming it in the manual. You can get the WSM for free from kubotabooks.com.

Ah, well that's good, the tires have lots of cracks. I could probably remove the tire here and have disposed of. I'd have to figure out what that would cost.

I'm in 30655, it looks like shipping UPS for the orange one is $164 and the gray one is $122. If you have access to a more economical shipping method, you can send me a shipping label and I can print it. My work has a dock if you wanted to put it on a pallet. But I don't think that is cheaper.

We should take measurements to make sure these are the same as yours. I can do that tomorrow. I can box it up and see what it would cost to ship UPS. I'd like to get $200 plus shipping for it.

My L245 is the same way, along with the decompression knob. It reminds me of starting an airplane. Pull the decompress, hit the glow plugs and count, hit the starter and when it engages push in the decompression and give her fuel. It does make it harder to steal.

So sight glass is just white - L2501/HST

Kubota told me that the fluid should be clear, it might darken, but it should be clear. If it's getting dark or you can't see through it at all, you've got impurities in your fluid. That means that you are on the way to pump and drive failures. White usually means water.

What HST fluid is good and not so expensive? L3800HST

Considering the cost of rebuilding or replacing an HST, I'd stick to factory fluids and filters.
