MX 5400 FEL rear tire pressure

I have a NX5400 - if I don't have my box blade on the back mine feels light in the rear too. These can carry some weight in the bucket or when using a forklift so weight in the back is necessary. As for tires, I run at 20 PSI at all 4 corners. Low air pressure can cause the tire to come off the...

    Test driving

My dealer had two different L tractors ready for me to demo when I showed up. Then he made arrangements for me to see an MX at a sister store. When I told him I liked the MX. He had it sent over to demo. It turned out to be the one I bought

    2021 MX5400 DT Initial Impressions

I have gotten used to the sound of the higher RPM's. To the point that its just hop on and run them up. anything less now sounds wrong. Low RPM will cause regen sooner. Getting use to the higher speed, when it goes in regen just keep working. I constantly swap from loader bucket to fork lift...

Tractor sizing and New vs. Used ?s

I'm not a farmer. I do own a business. If the used price is 60% of new and it is not financed, that can have a big impact on cash flow. Finance used would keep more cash available. however at the 0% that is like free money and you get the tool you need. When I started I financed used trucks...

First Time Tractor Buyer, Update: Deal Now Done. Thanks

Top n tilt and 3 rear remotes. Makes using the rear back blade so much nicer. Even hooking up with the quick hitch. The box blade is a super handy tool. Sounds like a very nice tractor.

    Lead Time MX5400

I bought a MX5400 back in October and it took until mid December to get it. The tractor was in stock. The top n tilt and rear remotes were not. I took it incomplete and when the rest of the stuff came in in January they finished it. Last month I ordered a second one. Same issues. Machine is in...

    Home security system

At my home, its German shepherds one is trained for search, protection and security. He enjoys bite work. The other while noisy, intimidating and has scared many, like most dogs probably wouldn't do anything. I had a UPS guy show and when I heard the dogs, I went to the gate and he was in his...

Newbie What and How to level this?

Basically doing what you said. Find your finish grade height. Then remove the high material and add to the low spots. You need to compact the loose material or once the "fluff" settles you will have bumps and low spots. I would use a box blade. I would also use a laser level and a helper, to...

MX5400 with 1065 FEL and JBar 66” Grapple questions

On my MX 5400 the loader bolts that hold the pins are not tightened down to the pin. They have the nylon lock nuts too. My dealer installed third function leaked also. It was a simple re tighten.

    Plagued by inventory

there are so many things in short supply right now. Took me a couple months to get my MX5400. I just went to order a new freightliner truck. The first build date is August and now add for a chip problem. So I went used. I found I may need another tractor so I went ahead and ordered it now...

    Rear Remotes, Top/Tail

Its always about time vs money. I have a shop at my disposal with mechanics on the payroll and I still had the dealer install the remotes and the top n tilt. I figure the time it takes for us to run down parts and learn the install we could do the work we are familiar with. If I had a bunch of...

    Horse drawn wagon

I live in a western Arizona town and I started my business with water trucks. I used my trusty MX5400 to reshape my front yard so now I am looking for a horse drawn wooden wagon for a yard decoration. I have a plan to make it look like an old west water wagon I figure who better to ask than a...

    New Purchase Help

I chose the MX5400 over the L because of lift capacity, pto hp and width. I use it in our equipment yard and it has done some construction type work for building pad prep. I use box blade, bucket. and fork lift. It compliments my skid steer. I move dirt and rock with the bucket. It reaches into...

    Tools for general maintenance....

Assuming you have basic hand tools. Review the owners manual and the things you would do, go do a dry run. Meaning put a wrench on it. For those of us that have lots o tools, it's difficult to say what someone should buy. Like magicman said, let time dictate. So far on even my MX, basic wrenches...

    Torque Wrench Necessary?

When used properly you know exactly how tight a given nut or bolt is. And they all have a specific number. If you can't measure the torque, you simply don't know. That said. The manual references checking torque on several components as part of maintenance. Either you want to know or you don't.
