Couple questions, and they may be stupid but I am a first timer, so bear with me. Is there a benefit to going with the 850 , other than increased HP ? Will the extra 5 hp be noticed ? What if anything additional will I be looking to purchase to do this swap ? What from old engine will be...

Update , and question. So I decided I want to repower the tractor instead of rebuild. Reason being , I need the machine ready to go by late September or sooner. I am going to rebuild the old engine next spring when I have the time to work on it. I got the old engine out today , took about...

Is it at all possible that the motor pump is locked up? I had a buddy with a little bit more mechanical experience come out and just could not believe that the tractor was locked up as tight as it is. We put a pipe wrench on the bar from the engine to that pump that you’re talking about and it...

Question The from crank has a chain wrapped around a bar that goes to hydro block for loader and another chain right before said block. Any idea if it’s purpose?

Ok. You have all talked me into it. I am honestly pretty apprehensive about removing the head but I guess i can’t really do much damage, or nothing irreversible anyway. It is a gear drive not hydro.

I know your right , and I would love to do it myself. I really didn’t think I would be looking at rebuilding an engine. It’s more of a time issues for me. I don’t slow down until fall with my regular job and that’s when I really need the little tractor to get started on cutting some timber...

It spins freely by hand now so I am sure it is in neutral.

Also , if I am for sure looking at a rebuild does anyone have any recommendations in the NE Oklahoma Region ? It isn’t something I am comfortable attempting.

Update. Have had it soaking for a few days now. Only way I have to try it is by rocking it. I can’t get to front crank or flywheel without removing majority of FEL components and would prefer that to be a last resort. Nothing has changed. I loosened the bolts on exhaust manifold and got a lot...
