    Productive day

Spent more time on the little BX today than I have since I got it last year. The steep dirt trail to the upper property had some deep ruts from the Winter rain. Used the box scaper to smooth things out and fill in the ruts. Then put on the brush hog and took on some out of control growth on...

    Tube or not?

I’m replacing a front tire on the BX. Is it recommended to put a tube in it or is that a bad idea? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A little time on the BX

Smoothed out a section of the trail and moved a couple buckets of dirt to fill a low spot in the yard. So much easier than a shovel and a wheel barrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Trail cutting

Did some more trail cutting with the BX and 42” bush hog. Made a several hour job into a 1/2 hour play session. Not much flat ground in the woodlot and still feeling my way slowly to learn the capabilities of this little tractor...

1st try with the bush hog

Finally got the bush hog onto the 1870. First time ever using one. Did some light cutting on the trails in the wood lot and then went up above to cut along the road. Went with a 42” because of the narrow openings I have but would recommend wider as this didn’t seem to work the motor much at...

    Hill climb

I made it to the top of the ridge and was able to grade the trail on the way back down. Long climb in low range. I stopped to take a few pics while up there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

The forks worked well as a log lift. Getting the wood off the ground helps my old back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Mower lift

Got a mower lift for the little riding mower. Supposed to lift 500 pounds. Anybody know if it should lift the front end of a BX? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Working on the trail

Rookie operator, but I think the box scraper is going to work fine for keeping the trail in decent shape This is the steepest part so the rest shouldn’t be too bad. https://youtu.be/kNKM6-6YwGs Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Still learning

Changed the oil on the new to me 1870 this morning. When I went to change the filter I noticed the one on the tractor was bigger than the one the dealer gave me. Not wanting to make an hour trip to town I opted to put off the filter change until later. Got on the internet and found a post...

    Mower deck removal

Got the mower deck off of the BX1870. Getting the drive line off of the pto took a little work. I don’t think the original owners had ever removed the deck. Greased it up after I finally got it apart and now slides on and off easily. The underside of the deck looked very good. Once I got the...

    BX Bush Hog

I’m new to this site and sub compact tractors. I am sure to have lots of questions. What size bush hog do you BX owners run? I have a 42” and I am wondering if the 1870 will handle it without the bucket on for counterweight? If I stay on top of things, the brush won’t get too high. The woodlot...

    Mower deck on BX

Height adjustment knob wouldn’t go to the top position. Adjusted the screw at the back of the tractor and it now turns easily into top position When I use the lowering lever, the deck still lowers a couple of inches while in the top position. Normal or not? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bush hog driveline?

Got delivery today on a used BX1870 this afternoon. I also purchased a Land Price RCR1242 bush hog. When I mounted the bush hog to the tractor the drive line coupling won’t clear the pto to allow attachment. Is drive line length critical as long as it isn’t long enough to do damage? They...

    Hill climb?

New owner of an 1870. My property has a steep dirt road to an upper woodlot. My Honda quad goes up with no issue. Should I expect the BX to be capable of going up the hill? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
