Purchase of a 2020 Kubota GR 2020/2120 with snowblower

I use the bucket of the BX2380 to move snow out of the driveway. I have added a plastic edge on the bucket to keep the wear down. The bucket actually works surprisingly well for this task. I also have a walk behind track drive Honda snowblower that I bought well before the BX and the GR. It...

Purchase of a 2020 Kubota GR 2020/2120 with snowblower

I have a GR2010 (bought new in 2009) and a BX2380 (bought new in 2018). The GR has a 48" deck while the BX has a 60" deck. Both decks are equipped with the mulching kit. Neither of these tractors are equipped with a snowblower, so I cannot speak to that. I don't use the GR in the winter at...

Gear oil vs UDT in front axle

I use Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-90 in my BX 2380 front axle. It seems to work just fine. I can't say that it works any better than UDT (how would you really know?) but I have had good luck with synthetic gear oils in race cars. I realize a tractor is far from a race car, but I had the oil on the...

    HST Transmission Oil

I am not sure I follow this. I keep my pail of S-UD2 in the basement of my house where the temperature never changes much. What is the risk here?

    TruFuel question

This might be too obvious, but it is worthy of mention. TruFuel also makes just a straight gasoline with no pre-mix included. Are you positive that your particular TruFuel can says "40 to 1" or "50 to 1"? It would actually be easier than one might think to walk into the store and get the...

Which tires for first tractor purchase?

I too have a BX2380, and went through the same decision-making process as you are now experiencing. I do a lot of mowing, and a lot of snow removal with the FEL in winter. We also just finished a pretty major landscaping project in which we moved 40 yards of dirt around the front yard. I...

    New BX2380 owner....grease question

I actually have both, and certainly prefer the Lock n' Lube. It just seems to keep things a little cleaner. The only problem I find with the LnL is on grease nipples that have a little less accessibility. The LnL is quite long so it doesn't always "fit" into certain spaces. The LnL has...

    Alternate HST filters

I am a pretty big WIX/NAPA Gold fan myself, and use them pretty extensively in everything I own engine-wise. However, in both my GR2010 and my BX2380's transmissions, I have always stuck to Kubota filters and SUDT. It costs a few bucks more this way, but it is not changed as frequently as...

BX 23STLB reverse was slow now fixed

While you are at it, check the under seat spring nuts and the throttle lever nut. There are a few threads on this forum discussing those very issues. Like tis one: https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39380

    Mixing hydraulic fluid

6500 or 650 hours, it depends how important your peace of mind is to you. I am anal to a fault, so the first thing I would have done is change everything immediately. This way, I have a much better idea of "what I got". However, I am way over the edge in terms of maintenance, and I know that...

New 2380 that needs first greasing since dealership

That's why I like the Mystik JT-6 high temperature red grease. It seems to stay put pretty well in the loader pins, although a moly grease _might_ be better for pins. However, this Mystik grease is also great for wheel bearings and mower spindle bearings, so I am able to buy one grease and use...

    Starting info for a newbie.

I am positive that the diesel in your area is good to go for winter, regardless of what the filling station attendants say. If you are worried, grab a bottle of "Power Service" diesel additive in the white bottle and add to your fuel as instructed on the label. You can get it at Wal-Mart...

New 2380 that needs first greasing since dealership

Hi bomack. Fellow Manitoban here with the same 2380. I have been using Mystik JT-6 Red grease which is readily available at Canadian tire. This grease is very highly rated over at bobistheoilguy.com and I have never had any issues using it in anything from the tractor to my summer toys. It...

    mulch kit for BX

I have dealer installed mulch kits on both my older GR2010 and my 2017 BX2380. Both work extremely well, but you do need to keep your grass at a reasonable height. Regular mowing produces great results.
