How many hours on your tractor.

I have 47 hours on MX5800 - had a hydraulic line for 3pt hitch rupture at the 12 hour mark. Dealer responded to my Farm w/in an hour and attempted repair in the field by replacing "O-ring"..but it kept rupturing and after blowing thru 2 more Orings the Dealer trailered back to shop. Next day...

    50 hour Service

Thanks Captmikem - I wouldn't have thought to check the lugs but will do NOW!

    50 hour Service

Thanks for all the responses. I agree that changing some oil & filters myself makes sense - unless you know me! I could build a rocket to the Moon easier...I'm NOT mechanical at all and although I did buy a grease-gun and greased the FEL --- reminded me how much I "hate" doing even simple...

    50 hour Service

My new MX5800 is approaching the 50 hour mark (46.3 hrs) and I contacted Dealer to schedule service. Dealer said it will take a few "weeks" to schedule?? My concern is that I will have 60-70 hours on Tractor by then unless I just stop using it. Dealer said the extra hours are no problem and...

    MX5800 - Hydraulic line "ruptured"?

Thanks for the replies - I hope this was just an odd occurrence and not going to be repeated with other O-rings etc.. failing. It certainly shut down my planting for 2 days and I missed one of the few stretches of Sun w/No rain this Spring. The one positive was seeing my Dealer "in action" -...

    MX5800 - Hydraulic line "ruptured"?

My brand new MX5800 just had a hydraulic line "rupture" while I was pulling a set of LP2572 discs. Tractor only had 10 hrs on it and was performing fine - pulling and lifting the discs w/no difficulty as I was working a field on my farm...then as the 3pt hitch was lifting the discs - a "garden...

    Woods BSS72 Box Blade

CaptMike you are correct on the Woods BS"M" - much heavier than the BSS that was mentioned to start this thread and it was the BSS that I was referring to when I expressed concerns about it's LIGHT duty quality. The BSS is only 5550lbs and therefore several 100lbs lighter than the BSM models...

CaptMike you have the Woods BSM84 - BIG difference from the Woods BSS (mentioned to start this...

CaptMike you have the Woods BSM84 - BIG difference from the Woods BSS (mentioned to start this thread) - the BSM is several 100lbs heavier than the BSS and a much better product - also a lot more $$ but likely worth it.

    Woods BSS72 Box Blade

King creek or CaptMike -- or anyone w/BoxBlade: I'm looking for either a 6' or 7' BB and so far have been disappointed in the quality of the Land Pride 2572 and Woods BS models - both seem "Light Duty" regardless of their "Heavy Duty" claims...they each weigh UNDER 600 lbs. I have some rocks...

    MX4800 first week review

Nice photo's of the "grapple work". I just got my MX5800, FEL, 6' LP 2572 discs, & Spreader. I did Not get - but could use - grapple/rock bucket! I have fields to till/plant (7-8 Acres total) and they've got lots of rocks - some 3' x 4' and must weigh a ton. I have "hooks" welded onto bucket...

Thanks for the help- L6060 grand on the way

You certainly picked the Cadillac of 60hp tractors! I've been looking at the L6060 for almost a year and comparing against other tractors from NH as well as the MX5800 at Kubota. The L60 is clearly better quality and especially regarding the 3 pt hitch and it's more powerful rear hydraulics...

    MX5800 AG tires?

D2Cat - you're correct in that I "over analyze" everything...but my property is also 200+ acres well Off Grid and when something goes wrong - I'm on my own. Therefore, trying to minimize those risks as best I can and a few extra plys on the tires "might" make a difference. May be all academic...

    MX5800 AG tires?

One more TIRE QUESTION - how many "plys"? When I asked Dealer if I could upgrade to 10 ply tires was told "Kubota does not package new tractors w/the best tires or offer that as an option". That explains why the stock tires are only 6 ply. I know that any tire can puncture but 6 plys are more...

    Winch ?

BCP - while an 18,000lb winch would be better - I already own a 9000 and trying to get some use out of it vs. it stays sitting on my garage floor. Had it mounted on my '04 F150 and rarely ever used it...so little use that I didn't bother to mount it on my '14 Silverado. Know that the "one time...

    MX5800 - price variations

MadMax, although you "turn wrenches" - I can NOT and even an oil change would test my mechanical skills...therefore the ability to get reliable Dealer Service will be necessary. I'm not overly concerned about this because Dealers make a significant part of their "profit $$" by servicing...

    HOPPER - Spreader?

Looking to get the "right" hopper/spreader for MX5800. Would use for fertilizer, lime, seed - Corn & soy beans. Would also like to be able to spread AG lime but doubt any will work for that. I want a Large one (mostly for fert/lime) but don't think it needs to be over 1000lbs.(my largest...

Hooks - welded/bolted to FEL Bucket

Ken, I'm getting the upgraded HD bucket w/bolt on edge, think it has rounded back. I will look at one more closely and thought I might be over doing it

    Winch ?

I like the idea of mounting Winch on 2" receiver hitch - will allow me to use w/my truck also. It wouldn't require it being on the tractor all the time either - just walk back to the house and get it when needed (then lug the 100lb. mother to the Tractor!)...good exercise and will teach me Not...

Hooks - welded/bolted to FEL Bucket

The Kubota "warning" about not using chains/ropes w/FEL is only one step away from warning against using the FEL "at all". Any tractor offers limitless ways to injure yourself - if you aren't careful. Regardless of which hooks I eventually get (welded or bolted) I think I will also want a...
