    MX 200 Hour Maintenance

Thanks for the clarification. The owner's manual shows that both the HST and hydraulic filters should be changed at 50 hours. I had the dealer do the 50 hour maintenance for warranty purposes and he didn't change the hydraulic filter, only the HST filter. The Work Shop Manual I have...

    MX 200 Hour Maintenance

I'm going to do the 200 hour maintenance soon on my MX5800. On the HST filter change section of the manual, it tells you to remove three drain plugs from the trans case. About how much fluid will drain out? On the 400 hour maintenance it shows removal of 4 plugs to change the hydraulic...

    Buying a MX5800 HST. Recommended Attachments/Adds

I didn't get a backhoe on my MX. Decided to use the money toward a mini ex. That leaves the 3 point on the MX open and having both the mini ex and the MX makes yard work faster and more fun. :)

    Where is Your Tractor Kept?

Tractor stored in separate garage. Mini Ex in small pole barn since it's too tall to fit though the door of the garage.

    Buying a MX5800 HST. Recommended Attachments/Adds

If your barn has concrete floors, it's helpful to put all your attachments on dollies. You can easily move them around and it becomes very easy to line them up with your 3 point. If you get snow in the winter, think about getting a front snow blade and a rear snow blower. It's nice to get a...

60' front blade or Snow Blower

I have a lot of space to pile up snow so I mainly use the front snow blade to clear my gravel driveway since it's really fast. I just got a rear blower for last winter and it works great and would be the way to go if you don't have much room to pile up the snow. I used a good walk behind snow...

    Mx 5800 price

Like N Idaho Wolfman said, get all the useful options you can. I got the 3rd function, top and tilt, and 3rd remote on my 5800. The 3rd function is good for using a grapple or a front snow blade. The top and tilt is great for just about anything you attach to the 3 point and I use the 3rd...

Was pretty amazed by Puma snowblower

Thanks for the tip. I decided against a cab since I need to be able to look over the rear tires a lot due to all the trees and obstacles that I work around in the forest. This is my first season with the snowblower and I don't mind a little snow spray. Maybe if I use it long enough in windy...

Was pretty amazed by Puma snowblower

Wow! That's one of the top of the line Pronovosts. I saw videos of it throwing snow really far. I'm glad I went through the trouble of getting the Puma even though there don't seem to be too many dealers in the West. I got rid of the photo with the tail end of the car in it. Probably not...

    calling all BH77 Backhoe owners...

The dealer sold me the 72" wide grapple which is probably too wide especially with a 3901. I would get a narrow one. I found the extra width wasn't helpful, in my case anyway. The EA grapple I had was only 54" wide and worked well. The EA single lid root grapple had much longer jaws so it...

Was pretty amazed by Puma snowblower

There was about 8 inches of heavy wet snow this AM and it even started raining. I tried using my 2 stage Ariens walk behind blower on a concrete pad close to the house but it was absolutely useless in this snow. Didn't know if the Pronovost Puma 3 point blower would work to clear the...

    calling all BH77 Backhoe owners...

Yes, it's a LP grapple. I still have that one. Had a EA grapple with longer jaws but gave that and a WR Long snow blade to my nephew along with the L3901. It was nice having both types of grapples but I like my new snow blade more than the WR Long blade for use on gravel.

    calling all BH77 Backhoe owners...

I used the BH77 on my L3901 to dig up a whole bunch of stumps. It worked great for that. Ended up giving the tractor to my nephew since he needed it so I ended up getting a MX and a mini ex to replace it. The mini ex is a bit faster at digging stumps but the BH77 did OK.

    Question for N Idaho folks

I live south of Sandpoint near Spirit Lake. This is my fourth winter here and I've been using a front blade but just got a rear snowblower this fall. Last winter we had a lot of snow so I got the blower as a backup in case we have a lot of snow again. I plan to use it mainly to get rid of...

    Snow blade learning curve

I've had good luck using a rubber blade on unfrozen gravel. I make the rubber blade hang down low so it can bend backwards when plowing. It kind of acts like a windshield wiper blade and doesn't dig into the gravel much. Also it helps to have a blade that has lateral oscillation so it can...

    Kubota MX5200 Hydraulics Questions

I had the 3rd function and 3 rear remotes installed by the dealer when I bought my MX. I think the 3rd function is by Land Pride. I have one free remote and the other two are for my top and tilt. The free remote has the quick connect in the back and the two for the TNT don't have quick connects.

Finally put the rubber edge for use on gravel on the new front snow blade and got the hydraulic hoses and fittings installed on the new snowblower for chute rotation. Should be ready for winter now.
