    Hydraulic Cutter Won't Raise

The new hydraulic line came with the male and female ends already attached. I did use Teflon tape to connect the female end of the line to the cutter's cylinder. I am positive that the tape did not extend over the inlet where it could block the flow of fluid but I'm more than willing to get...

    Hydraulic Cutter Won't Raise

The disconnect is the type that can be removed with a quick jerk on the hydraulic line. Would it make sense to remove the female coupler from the cutter's cylinder and see if fluid is making it to the end? Sounds like a possible mess but not sure what else to do. Thanks.

    Hydraulic Cutter Won't Raise

I have a M4800 that has a new aftermarket hydraulic system that was added by the Kubota dealership. It has worked for the past few years with a 7' Kodiak Cutter. No other hydraulic implements on farm. I replaced the 14' hydraulic line but it doesn't move the cutter. The hydraulic fluid is...

3 Point Position Control Lever Hard to Move

No draft control lever. It only has the position lever. M4800SU model. The power steering and remote work fine. I have a parts manual with diagrams but don't understand how to make adjustments to the feedback linkage, if that is the problem. Any advise would be appreciated.

3 Point Position Control Lever Hard to Move

I changed hydraulic fluid on my 4800 about a month ago. Since that time the position control lever is very "stiff" to move and my 3 point lift will barely get my cutter off the ground. Fluid level looks ok on the measuring stick. Yesterday while cutting some brush I looked back and the cutter...

M4800 just started loosing power under load

Problem solved but it wasn't the cap. Loosening the cap did improve the fuel flow problem and I thought it was fixed until I hooked up a mower. RPMs dropped and the tractor bogged down again. I pulled the fuel line going from the tank to the filter and the flow was there but not great. Took...

M4800 just started loosing power under load

Fired my tractor up last night after work, loosened cap on fuel tank and it climbed up a pretty steep hill without loosing power. My weekend is looking better. Thanks guys!

M4800 just started loosing power under load

Fingers crossed. Won't get to check it till the weekend.

M4800 just started loosing power under load

I hope you're right about the vent cap. I did open the stop cock while I had the filter off and the fuel was hitting the side of the cap underneath. Didn't know what was normal but seemed slower than I expected. I've seen post where people blow a little air back into the tank in case...

M4800 just started loosing power under load

I have a M4800 with 500 hours that has just started loosing power under any load. This can be pulling a box, mowing or climbing a hill. The tractor dies if I don't let up. Idles and moves on flat ground without a miss. I am no mechanic by any means but prefer to do as much as I can before...

    Are suitcase weights harmful?

The tires are factory 8.3-24 on front and 14.9-28 on back. Still lots of tread. I couldn't say if the ratio is correct; wouldn't know how? My definition of skipping is when the tractor takes a wider arc than it should during a turn because the front end appears too light and the front tires...

    Are suitcase weights harmful?

Sounds unanimous! The 600 lbs made a big difference in traction and keeps the front end on the ground when pulling a cutter up a hill. I'll stop at 6 weights. Thanks.

    Are suitcase weights harmful?

I have a M4800 with no loader. My farm has hills. Tractor is primarily used for mowing and driveway maintenance. When going uphill and pulling a load, the tractor was skipping across the ground during a turn. I've since filled all four tires with liquid ballast and installed a weight bumper...

Why does tractor move after clutch depressed?

If the clutch is just sticking on the flywheel, what can I do to remedy. Not sure what you mean about removing the inspection plate. I took off the clutch pedal rod to shorten but it is corroded to the point that it can't be turned. Guess I could bend it.

Why does tractor move after clutch depressed?

Forgive me but I have a question about a blue tractor. After buying my Kubota, I need to sell my Ford 3600. Recently when it is in gear moving and I depress the clutch, unless I lower the rpm's, the tractor keeps inching forward (or reverse). It stops when I let off the gas. What would cause...

Hydraulic fittings won't lock into new valve

You may be correct? All three kind of snap in and snap out. Before I chopped up the hydraulic line, I would snap the one with the round poppit in and it appeared that it had locked. When I moved the lever to raise the cutter, it would pop out on the ground. I never got the shield off the...

Hydraulic fittings won't lock into new valve

I just had rear remote valves installed by Kubota and bought a new cutter that has one hydraulic line to raise and lower the cutter. I tried every way I knew to get the male fitting to stay in the valve but it kept popping back out. It seemed locked but I could give it a sharp rear pull and it...

    Splice hydraulic line?

I have a 14 foot hydraulic line for a cutter that got cut about a third of the length. I called the manufacturer and the technician suggested that NAPA auto can splice hydraulic lines to save some money. I haven't priced a new hose yet but is this safe?

Can't get hydraulic line to stay in rear outlet

The line from the cutter is a COOP brand and not from Kubota. The outlets are Kubota brand. Wouldn't have thought it could make a difference and thought the dimensions would be universal? The inlet (male from the cutter) and the outlet are both brand new and clean. I've used air and water...

Can't get hydraulic line to stay in rear outlet

Just got my 4800 back from Kubota yesterday after having rear remotes installed. Bought a new pull type cutter from COOP today and ready to mow. Problem is I can't get the hydraulic line to stay in the outlet. When it appears locked, I try to raise or lower the mower and the line pops out on...
