I need help deciding on which tractor is best for my needs

Just as an update, ended up getting the L4060HST with a FEL, box scraper, 6' bush hog and 48" pallet forks. I really think I made the better choice. There are a good number of bumps on our land and I'm in the woods a lot and that cushion seat has really saved my back. I got the tires filled...

I can't get my Land Pride RCR1872 shaft hooked to my PTO shaft

No, not yet. I haven't had a chance to get back out there. It's raining pretty good right now and I'm at work so it might be a couple of days.

I can't get my Land Pride RCR1872 shaft hooked to my PTO shaft

Well, that was way easier than I expected it to be. Thanks.

I can't get my Land Pride RCR1872 shaft hooked to my PTO shaft

That would make it a lot easier! I'm not sitting in front of it now so I can't see how to remove it. Can you give a brief overview? I wish I would have known that yesterday....lol. It got tough holding the mower shaft up and straddling 3 point hitch arms while fighting with that coupler.

    proper box blade operation?

I was trying to use my box scraper for the first time tonight. I guess I did kind of ok for my first time but, I have a lot of room to improve. My problem is that I'm going down a slight grade and then around a turn. The thing I didn't do was to tear the ground up first with the shanks...

I can't get my Land Pride RCR1872 shaft hooked to my PTO shaft

Ok. Thanks for the confirmation Pizzaguy. I appreciate it. I'll keep working on it. I'll check to see if there is any paint on the PTO shaft also. I wonder if it would help to very slightly smooth the edge of the beveled part of the PTO shaft a little?

I can't get my Land Pride RCR1872 shaft hooked to my PTO shaft

You are correct. It is the implement's PTO shaft. Based on your description, I'm doing it correctly. Is there anything I can do to get the ball bearings to compress and let it slide the rest of the way on the PTO shaft? I cleaned it and greased it and I even tried putting motor oil on it. I...

I can't get my Land Pride RCR1872 shaft hooked to my PTO shaft

Can you be more specific? On the shaft in the middle or on the shaft where it connects to the PTO?

I can't get my Land Pride RCR1872 shaft hooked to my PTO shaft

I just got my first tractor this past Friday. I got a Kubota L4060HST. I got a Land Pride box scraper and rotary cutter. I tried everything I could but I could not get the mower shaft to go onto the PTO shaft any further than the ball bearings. I don't know if there is an issue with the...

I think this is a fair price

I've posted a few other times asking for help on deciding on what tractor to get. I've decided and I have a quote. I'm getting the Grand L4060HST. Here are the options that I'm getting with it: FEL with 3rd function valve and a 72" quick attach bucket Rear remote Land Pride RCR1872 72"...

    Should I get a Grand L4060HSD or a MX5200HSD

Well, as it turns out, given all of the similar input related to which tractor to get and whether or not to get a backhoe, I'm going with the L4060HST and I'm not getting a backhoe. In lieu of a backhoe, I'm going to get a larger rotary mower, a box scraper, pallet forks, 3rd function...

    Should I get a Grand L4060HSD or a MX5200HSD

Would you go with a 72" cutter? Will the L4060 run the 72" cutter ok? It will be cutting brush initially. I'm leaning slightly towards the L4060HST. I'm still completely on the fence about whether or not to get a backhoe. One time I think I would use it and could justify the cost, another...

    Should I get a Grand L4060HSD or a MX5200HSD

This is from my other post. Here are my requirements, desires and my situation for a tractor. 4WD Front loader Backhoe Prefer HST but will entertain other types of transmissions if the price mandates I need a brush cutter capable of cutting 2" saplings. My budget for a tractor is right at...

    Should I get a Grand L4060HSD or a MX5200HSD

I posted this in my other thread but I think it is too deep in the thread to get much attention. So, I'm posting an new thread with this specific question. I've been working a salesman over, and he's been a very good sport about it. He is worked up some quotes for me on a Grand L4060HSD and a...

I need help deciding on which tractor is best for my needs

Ok, guys. I've been working a salesman over, and he's been a very good sport about it. He is working up some quotes for me on a Grand L4060HSD and a MX5200HSD. He hasn't sent me the quote yet but, he said the prices between the two is fairly close. I think within a couple of hundred dollars...

I need help deciding on which tractor is best for my needs

What do you like about your Grand L? I'm struggling a little between getting a Grand L4060 or a MX4700/MX4800/MX5100/MX5200. I like the features and comfort of the Grand L series but I don't know if it's worth the extra money and loss of power. What were you doing when you got the flat tires...

I need help deciding on which tractor is best for my needs

I've had a guy that does construction for a living and one dealer tell me not to get a backhoe because the amount of time I use it wouldn't justify the cost. I had another dealer tell me that I should get it and sell it when I'm done. I can see both sides. I'm going to have them put it as a...

I need help deciding on which tractor is best for my needs

To backhoe or not to backhoe...that is the (stressful) question. How do I gauge whether or not I need a backhoe? I'm going to estimate that there will be at least 30-40 trees cut down that will need to be addressed. When I think about that it seems like a backhoe would be worth the cost. I...

I need help deciding on which tractor is best for my needs

I believe I have narrowed my choice down to the L4060HST with the LA805 loader and a 5' rotary mower. I am considering a 3rd function valve for the loader and 2 remote hydraulic valves for the rear. As it stands right now, I'm starting to back away from the backhoe. A couple of people have...
