    WTB Good head for D750

I need a good head for a 3 cyl D 750 engine. Ideal would be a complete upper with valves and valve cover but just the head would work.

Damn. Antifreeze in the intake manifold and engine won't crank.

While I'm wishing I could use a valve cover with the compression release hardware intact as well.

Damn. Antifreeze in the intake manifold and engine won't crank.

I found a brand new naked head on the internet for $450. In my mind a new head for less would be nice, and a good used head with valves already seated for less than half that for an example. However, we can't always what we wish for can we?

Damn. Antifreeze in the intake manifold and engine won't crank.

Finally had time to pull head and have it checked. The found 2 cracks in 2 cylinders running from the intake valve to the glow plug cover. Does anyone have a recommendation for a source for a good used head, or a super deal on a new one?

Damn. Antifreeze in the intake manifold and engine won't crank.

Well finally had time to pull the head. All 3 cylinders had water in them. Checked piston travel and everything look OK. Am looking for a local shop to have the head checked.

Damn. Antifreeze in the intake manifold and engine won't crank.

I think my B6100E and D750 are toast. I bought this as a basket case and after a fist full of barked knuckles it ran like a sewing machine and worked like a champ. Then after it sat a while it won't crank over. It comes to a stop when cranking like it has hit something solid inside. When...

Old B6100E clutch problem, help please.

Well I split the tractor and took a look at the end of the transmission shaft. It was shiny and looked like it as rubbing something. I look into the clutch to see if there was debris or something that could be causing the problem and saw nothing. Since I saw nothing and there should have been a...

Old B6100E clutch problem, help please.

I had the throwout bearing pressed off and on at the local dealer's shop so it should be right. Since the suggestions are a frozen clutch disk and a bad bearing I guess I need to split the beast again and tear that all out and go over it. Will post what I find. Thanks.

Old B6100E clutch problem, help please.

I searched the archives and I didn't find a clear answer so I'll try asking for advice. I'll get to the point. When the tractor is in gear it works like a champ. A slight growl in the tranny at times and a bit of a clunk when going from forward to reverse. However it has developed a God...

    B6100E hydro opinion needed

I finally have the old girl up and running again but it has a quirk in the hydro system. The 3 point comes up strong when cold and holds as long as it is left in place. To me that means the piston has no problems, as a worn piston should bleed off. This one does not. At the same time if the...

    It's alive !!! Alive i tell you !!!

I posted last summer about the B6100E that came in a box of parts. Well after a few months of part time work it fired and ran at last. The original D650 engine had been pulled and the engine in the parts tub was a D750 which I did not realize at first until the head gasket would not fit. After...

D750B Tries to start but won't catch

What I meant was that I get air from the lines each time I bleed them. I can bleed the lines to get fuel flowing as far as the injectors and the next time I try I get more air all through the system. I seem to be pulling air from somewhere.

D750B Tries to start but won't catch

I've bled the system several times and get air every time. I'll try again. It sat for a couple years before I got it and I replaced most lines and clamps due to dry rot cracking. I'll let you know if that helps. When I replaced the head I set the valves within the range in the book but there is...

D750B Tries to start but won't catch

I have a D750 B in my tractor. I had to re-assemble the engine as the head and other minor parts were off from where the owner changed engines and never finished the job. The engine cranks good and I get vapor from the exhaust. It will try to fire if I get the throttle right but it stops fireing...

    B6100 w/ D750B engine

As I posted before I have a B6100 tractor with an engine based on a D750. I say based on because it has a mix of parts. As I put it back together I have noticed it has no stop lever that I can find. So I have to ask before I try to start it, how do I shut it down if it starts? This is my first...

    D650/D750 parts question

I've posted before that I'm trying to reassemble a Kubota from a pile of parts. The box of engine parts has a mix of D650 and D750 parts. I have a D750 block so I'm working that way. On the 750 just how important is the compression release for normal starting and use ? I have a valve cover...
