Don't overlook changing ALL the fluids including the steering box. My B5100e had a torn shifter boot and allowed water into the transmission prior to buying it.

Maybe a chaffed wire and jarring from the bucket movement is shorting it out. Since the engine has been replaced it's possible the wire is not routed correctly.

There is also a Shell Rotella 30 weight that I would use in your area of the country, it's in the white bottle. I find it at my local NAPA. Be aware there are three formulas of Rotella. Blue bottle is 5-40 synthetic, silver bottle is a blend and the white bottle comes in 15-40 and straight 30w.

As "ford-9in" mentioned it could be the adjustments for the compression release. Definitely check the pump timing too, not the gears but the mark on the flywheel and fuel starting to be pumped that's adjusted with the shims under the pump:D

Have you checked the engine timing?? Is the pin in the rack on the pump in the slot in the yoke? Are both springs connected?
