Add the JD dye ,just make sure to tell your dealer if you have it service there.They tend to panic when they see red.

I have 1200 hours on my L4240 HSTC,lots of them bush-hogging;been a very good all around tractor.Runs a 8' FEL mounted snow plow in the winter.

I put one on my L4240 HD bucket along with a tooth-bar.Great addition;doesn't open quite as far as a regular grapple but works well.

They are pretty loaded with features;price I saw for a M4-71 was $61K list.

I have a L4240 HSTC,owned since new(1200 hours) use it year round for food plots/snow removal.Great all around tractor.A little light in the rear;mine has loaded R1's.

Stick with your guns for the R1's.We have a similar sized L3000Dt and it's a tank in the woods.R4's will load up and be slicks in the mud and poor in the snow.

I have a L4240 HSTC purchased new;currently has about 1300 hours.I use it year-round,snow with a FEL mounted plow and food plot chores in the summer.It has been a very good tractor. Pulls a 2/14 dirt plow,roto-tiller,6'bush-hog ect.

Just had a Case 550(550 H.P.) on tracks plant the fields around me;24 row planter!I wouldn't even want to buy the fuel for that beast.

My first new Kubota was a 2004 3130 HST with a 723 loader.Very nice all around tractor;I traded up for a cab.

I installed rear work lights on my L4240 HSTC,no problem and no relay. Plug and play with the factory switch,left side of light console ,no need to remove the roof. Connector for lights is taped to the wiring for the caution lights(out-side).

Just went through the same exact situation;had about 5 acres cut with a Skid-Steer and forestry head.I ended up using the landscape rack and from grapple to gather the little piles to make big piles.PITA but it worked.Took me about 80 hours.

Should be a very nice tractor;I have a L4240 HSTC and more than pleased with it.Used Grand L's with-out the newest pollution controls command a premium. Mine was purchased new in Jan.of 2009 and has about 1200 hrs.

Take off a front tire,fairly easy and it can't be moved with-out it.

I would look around for broken or disconnected wires;brush hogging is tough on the under side of the tractor.

Still have this blower;buyer backed out.

I have the next size smaller loader (854) on a L4240 HSTC with loaded rears and have picked up the rear with the loader.Don't think the LA1154 would be considered weak.
