    Wicked tooth bar

But where in the real world would that wear pattern ever happen?

    L 3010 Head gasket issues/ Broken piston

I wouldn't spend a ton of time trying to figure out the order of events. Head gaskets do fail. Spray an ounce of coolant into a cylinder, bring that piston up with the valves closed, and something is going to break. Whatever the reason, you have a full tear-down and rebuild in front of you...

    Wicked tooth bar

I'm all in favor of making improvements, and I think VALID comparisons are good. But valid comparisons show how things behave in the real world, under real world conditions. I'm certainly not the most experienced tractor operator out there, but I'm pretty sure that running a tooth bar down...

    Wicked tooth bar

Looks pretty good, but.... Yeah, I'll try to remember not to run my Piranha over the pavement. Folks, if you have to do that kind of dishonest "testing" to make your product look better.... maybe it isn't really better.

    Not What I Expected

I hear ya! I stepped on a huge black rat snake the other day. Neither of us enjoyed the experience, and both of us demonstrated impressive acceleration. :D

    BX Instrument Cluster Replacement

Yep. For Kubota to have this custom made would be a very stupid waste of money on their part. They would have to have a very compelling reason to make this simple device more expensive than it needs to be. Which means, there is a very high probability of being able to buy an exact...

New to diesel -- what don't I know?

This post ought to be a sticky! Yeah, words matter!

    BX Instrument Cluster Replacement

A reasonable assumption, since that's the norm. Not 100%, but pretty close to it. Crazy enough that I'd have to see it to believe it. It's hard to see how it would make sense for this application. That approach is a lot more expensive. You need a really big run-rate and some special...

    Random Hard Starting

Troubleshooting beats parts swapping. It's almost always faster and cheaper. Less frustrating, too. Those safety switches are there for a reason, and they are not difficult to replace. Probably best to start there.

Diesel engine stalling with pto flail mower

Yep. Actually, it would probably be a lot easier. Cleaning the inside of a fuel hose is quite a challenge.

Diesel engine stalling with pto flail mower

That's easy. The engine needs more fuel at higher RPM. If the flow is restricted, the engine will starve for fuel a lot sooner at high load/ high RPM than if it's just idling along. There are a lot of epoxy based fuel tank liners with good track record. I'd sure do that before I spent $500 on...

    B7800 Fuel shut-off issues/controller for solenoid

Well, I don't have a B7800, so I don't knwo where it is. Usually it's near the injection pump. Can you post some pics?

    Loader/3pt pallet forks/Grapple

Yeah, I looked at that. Several reviews say the pins are located too high for a small tractor, and they can't get their loads much off the ground. I've got it on my "think about it" list, though. I did find a fork attachment online that weighs 50 pounds less, and is a proper fork, and has the...

    Loader/3pt pallet forks/Grapple

Well, that's encouraging, folks. I think I'm going to to figure out a temporary way to connect a full tote to the 3PH and see what happens. If it works, I'll be buying a fork attachment. The labor savings will be huge. Sorry to hijack your thread, Hoosier! :(

    B7800 Fuel shut-off issues/controller for solenoid

Learn something new every day! I didn't know that Kubota made a gas engine B7800. Dunno how bad a job it is on a gas engine. On the diesels it's really pretty simple. No video required, really.

Woodland Mills WG 24 stump grinder

When you grind a stump, and before you cover it with dirt, pour some cheap syrup on it. It will feed the fungi that will decompose the stump. Works a ton faster than any commercial stump rot product. If you care to spend the time on it, drilling a bunch of holes will help. Cutting the syrup...

Skid Steer fronthoe on a FEL

I have not tried it, but I can't see a tractor's FEL arms being stout enough to handle that kind of stress.

    RTV-900 Stop Solenoid Woes

I'd be looking carefully at the wiring TO the solenoid. It may have a corrosion problem and is making poor connection. You swap out a new solenoid, jiggling it in the process, and make the connection work for a time. Rinse, repeat. I don't know that model, but pay as much attention to the...

    Loader/3pt pallet forks/Grapple

I know it's 6xx something @ 24 inches back, so 1,000 at the balls would make sense. I'm going to have to check it out some rear pallet forks! Very nice project! (y)(y)
