Woodland Mills WC-68 or WoodMaxx TM-8H or WoodMaxx WM-8H

I have the WC-68 mated to a L4701 HST. Have about 40 to 50 hours on it because brush piles were getting out of hand. Only thing I have to compare it to is a 110hp pull behind I used when I worked for a tree service back in the day. The big pull behind would chip a 12” log (slowly) and had twin...

    Reverse mortgage

You’re pretty much, as a practical matter, selling your house before you’re done with it so if you want to pass it down to heirs it doesn’t really work. There are a lot of smaller but still concerning issues as pointed out by GeoHorn. Shockingly it isn’t as simple as it looks in those...

    Skid Steer Attachment Compatability

Pretty much, yes. SSQA is SSQA so if you have a SSQA quick attach and a SSQA implement you can attach it to your loader. The real issues (which you’ve probably already thought of) are making sure the implement is sized correctly for your machine (7500lb capacity forks on a 2500lb capacity...

What a difference a day makes

I was feeling kind of ill about how my last couple of days went. After reading that, I feel better now. Thanks! 🙂

    L3901 rear wheel width adjustment

The rims on my L4701 are adjustable per the manual, dealer, and design. They are a two piece rim with brackets on the outer rim that are offset from the center line of the rim. The brackets can be set inside the center or outside the center which moves the wheel the width of the bracket plus the...

    Why No Seat Belt Interlock?

I just read this whole thread from beginning to now. Not sure if the OP was serious or if bored and felt like throwing a match on a pile of gas soaked rags and laughing at the explosion and ensuing inferno. Regardless... Some may know I’ve posted a couple of things about safety (which some have...

    Replacing L3901 with MX5400

Congratulations! The third function and grapple; just hard to adequately state how incredibly useful the grapple is if you do any tree/brush/clearing work. It has saved me many, many hours of manual labor and allowed several projects that otherwise would have required renting a skidsteer...

    L4701 Rear Wheel Adjustment

    1) Thank you for your service. I am not familiar with combat but am familiar with doing things that would be otherwise unthinkable but for the dire nature of the circumstance. 2) Thankfully, I’m not in combat or any other dire circumstance so I have time to research, plan, gather appropriate...

Question on clevis pin alternatives when attaching and removing the 3 point hitch.

Kubota uses a split ring retainer on a similar pin that attaches the rocker arm link to the lift arm on the 3 point on mine. I would consider using that or something similar if you’re going to R/I it more than once in a blue moon.

    L4701 Rear Wheel Adjustment

Thanks for the responses and the concern (seriously). I guess I’m a worst case scenario person so with this fancy Tier 4 common rail HST blah, blah tractor concerned it might cause a fault in a computer somewhere if I loosened a wheel clamp and the headlights wouldn’t work any more. I figure...

Tandem Axle Trailer Tongue and Tractor Drawbar At Different Heights

Have pulled trailers and wagons off 3 pt quite a bit. There are some issues with that, as you probably know, which can be avoided by using the drawbar. Obviously you can pull with the 3 pt; if you can pull a plow you can pull a trailer. Problem pulling is when you have the hitch point above the...

    BX2380 Loader issue

You can purge some air that way, too but it won’t do anything for your loader. 😉

    BX2380 Loader issue

I’m not 100% guaranteeing your loader has it. With my LA765 you push the joystick right (away from you) to dump. If you push it far enough right it goes past a detent and goes into a free fall dump. Pretty much same as the float function on the loader arms. Don’t know that I’ve ever found a...

    L4701 Rear Wheel Adjustment

Rear wheels on my L4701 were left narrow due to a couple of clearance issues on our property. Dealer made it quite clear (and manual seems to agree) they are adjustable on the 4701 even with the R4’s. Those clearance issues have been addressed so I’m thinking about adjusting them out. Running...

    B5100 Front Hazard/Marker Light?

Stanley Electric is a Japanese company that has been making lighting, including vehicle lighting, since the 1920’s or so. Unfortunately that pretty much exhausted my knowledge on the subject. It might not get you anywhere but you could try contacting Stanley...

    Broken Welds on L344 loader

Causation makes a lot more sense now. Looks like you’re fortunate the failure point was a relatively cheap fix compared to some of the alternatives.

    BX2380 Loader issue

Check for mechanical issues as noted above. Check quick coupler connections, particularly if you’ve had any off recently. I’ve had problems with mine a couple of times and although the quick couplers “looked” right, unhooking them and hooking them back up resolved the issues. If no mechanical...

    Turning a tractor over

That last sentence about going slowly... Long ago lost count of how many times going slowly in a situation that was a little dicey has saved my butt. Get into it a bit, realize a wheel is lifting, things are getting tippy, front end is trying to flip over backward, and just stop. Maybe even...
