Recommend me a new grease gun

I bought one at the Kubota dealer. Works great. Wasn't long after I got it that I was asked to do a general servicing on a guy's L48 TLB, yeah I'll do it. As you know, it's got like 50 fittings on it between the BH, the FEL, and everything else in between. Took me almost 45 minutes just to...

    G1900 front axle

Another.......and FINAL update! Done. Had the axle out of the tractor the other day. Today I took it over to a friend's place after trying to hammer on the remainder of the pivot, it would not budge with a 4 lb hammer. My friend has a 50 ton press, so it was either going to come out or it...

    Kubota LA 480 Loader problem

Should be 3 hoses from the loader to the tractor, not 2. Open center system. There would be a pump hose, a return hose and a power beyond hose.

    Recall notice for L3301, L3901, L4701?

I don't know in your case, but I do know one particular recall years ago, Kubota told the dealer that Kubota would no longer be responsible for getting the recall done... so they were more or less forcing the dealers to get the recall done by x date. Kubota will do that sometimes, push the...

    ZD331 engine will not turn

After draining the engine oil, how much did you put back into the valve cover filler? Should be real close to 4 quarts, aka 1 gallon. Doubt the hydraulic system fill/filter replacement has anything to do with it unless hydraulic oil was inadvertently added to the engine; causing overfilling...

    L3240 Steering issues

Steering shaft support bearing is probably seizing. OR one of the u-joints. I've done a few support bearings in the past; same complaints, it gets tight, harder to steer. Easy to diagnose to. Remove the support from the tractor but leave the shaft connected. 17mm bolt as I recall. If the...

    G1900 front axle

Valentines day went well. Although I got nothing accomplished in the shop, I mean absolutely nothing. Didn't even turn a light on. Soaked everything down with PJ1. Nothing. Nothing budged any more than it already has. I welded a big nut to the axle pivot and used a big (I mean heavy)...

    Recall notice for L3301, L3901, L4701?

Yes. I am told it would've happened at dealer setup and PDI, or within the first hour of use. Still wise to have the recalls performed, though. Dealer gets paid to do it, Kubota rewards the dealer if a certain percentage is met, and it also removes some liability from yourself should an issue...

    Kubota LA 480 Loader problem

Quick coupler could be bad....or partially installed, plugged, etc. 3 point hitch feedback rod could be either out of adjustment, bent, broken missing, or the position control valve itself could be problematic. This is not common though...worth mentioning but not common. With a hoe on back...

    Recall notice for L3301, L3901, L4701?

That's like a 2 year old recall campaign. Let the dealer take care of it. It's easy, takes like 10 seconds for them to do it-and then 30 minutes to do their internal paperwork. The runaway-you can thank the good ol' US EPA for this stupid stuff! What gets me is that they (government) could...

    L3901 Error Codes (p3001)

Works for all codes. It clears the memory in the panel (dash). But it does not clear the ECU's memory. And thus, is IMO considered a temporary solution to a bigger problem. It only turns the code off in the dash so you can see the hourmeter. And if there's a problem causing the code, it...

PTO on 9540 is not engaging

PTO clutch has a problem most likely. Not uncommon. BUT, keep in mind that the PTO clutch is hydraulically activated, so it would be good to have a pressure gauge to test the pto clutch pack pressure before splitting the tractor. Could also be one of the shafts broken, or perhaps a pto clutch...

12 volt drain on my ZD28F

Found another issue today with a ZD25. The 2 wires that come from the dynamo run over to the reg/rectifier assembly, through a harness with other wires-one of which turns the regulator on and another which is the charge wire, (white IIRC) that runs from the reg/rect to the starter. That wire...

5 minutes for the turbo to slow down.

A lot of people blow this way out of proportion. Is it important? Yes. Will not allowing a few minutes of idle hurt it? In the short term, probably not. Long term...maybe. The automotive aftermarket has a timer that delays engine shut down until the turbo cools. It's really a ricer...

    Add a quite muffler / exhaust? BX1860

The intake is a lot louder than the exhaust on those tractors. The muffler is actually pretty quiet. Once you get rid of the intake noise, that is. But as said, be careful with the mods because they can (and sometimes will) mess with the engine causing high EGT's for instance-which is bad.

12 volt drain on my ZD28F

Dynamo's are dirt simple. They rarely fail, and usually when they do, it's just seized bearings. New bearings and they're back to working again. Cheap and easy. They just aren't as efficient as an alternator, and they don't charge as many amps. I've had a few of these (ZD25's and ZD28's) in...

    G1900 front axle

I'll certainly keep an eye out for one. Update though. I got it loose. The pivot sleeve was seized into the frame. Get this. I've been messing with it for about 2 weeks off and on now, soaking it in the morning before work, then come home, heat the axle and sleeve and soak it while warm...

    Regeneration mode

Depends on the "stage" of regeneration (or regen for short). Stage 1, you do nothing but rev the engine until the RPM light goes out. Then wait til the DPF regen light goes off and you're done. This is typically done while you're using the tractor normally. Stage one there is no beeper...
