    lost another one

1994-ish for me, don't remember exactly. Third time was the charm. First two times I'd go a year or more and decide I could have "a" beer. Which quickly became a couple, then a sixer, etc. Haven't touched a drop since and STILL don't dare to.

Can't complain about HF Predator Engines!

Yup, that's why I ordered the stickers. I have several home-built toys that Tim would be proud of!

Can't complain about HF Predator Engines!

Some years back, I got REALLY tired of wimpy snowblowers that would bog down in anything other than a few inches of light fluffy stuff. A friend had an 8/24 blower with a blown up Briggs and Scrapiron on it that he just wanted gone. I have a torch and a welder, so... I sprung for a 13 horse...

That's for sure. Flocks of 10 or 20 turkeys in the back yard are commonplace, don't dare put a bird feeder out as the bears will destroy them, an eagle flying over doesn't even raise an eyebrow (and I've lost birds to them too). I haven't seen a fisher but I know they're around and I hear...

Bobcats and chickens are not a great mix. This one survived. It's predecessor, who ate 5 of my birds before I solved it's lead deficiency problem, did not.

    New to me Atlas Lathe

Its a Grizzly G0704. Taiwanese I think. Most of them are from somewhere in Asia. I've been very happy with it, and added some tooling for it to my "Christmas list" too. Set of fly cutters and next purchase will be a bigger vise for it. Grabbed that off Craigslist several years back.

    New to me Atlas Lathe

I have a modeling "machine shop" in my basement with the usual assortment of measuring and setup tools: micrometers, dial indicators, parallels, 123 blocks, that sort of thing. My "big shop" is 100 yards or so from the house and running back and forth to grab tools is more of a PITA than my...

It also came with a cabinet CHOCK full of tooling in HSS, brazed carbide and insert style. Also included were the faceplate with various sizes of drive dogs, steady rest, 3 and 4 jaw chucks, turret tool holder for the tailstock, live and dead centers, 2MT Jacobs chuck and various chuck keys...

    New to me Atlas Lathe

Having scanned the available forums, I guess this is the place to put it. Several years ago, a fellow firefighter offered me this ancient (1890-ish) Seneca Falls Star 30 lathe. Originally line shaft driven it had been converted to an electric motor drive and used in his shop for wood...

You know the old saying about the "4 Stages of Santa": 1. You believe in Santa 2. You don't believe in Santa 3. You ARE Santa 4. You look like Santa Well, I'm on the cusp between #3 and #4, so at least I get presents I actually want! :ROFLMAO: Amazon/UPS has been VERY busy this month...

    I was bored......

I've fought with small tires for years until I got a cheapo Horror Fright tire changer. Still not exactly a piece of cake, but MUCH easier than a couple of tire spoons.

    I was bored......

Nice! I have a pile of tires and 2 or 3 lawn tractor front ends laying around, I might have to build one just because.

We had a bit of a blow last night and a tree fell over the fence on the daughter's dog fence so I went up to fix it. I barely survived being attacked by a vicious pair of Akitas...
