    A little Machinist advice please

It took 21 posts to get the model number in question. You can learn a lot by looking up exactly what you are working on. Apparently there are two serial number breaks for the JX75 but both seem to have the same transmission. https://partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/navigation/equipment/22632 The...

    Fuel blockage in tank

I cleaned my JD tank out with a shop vac. It smelled like diesel for months. You can probably prevent that by rigging up a remote vacuum reservoir with a 5 gallon bucket. Or just buy a cheap wet vac and don't worry about the after smell. It eventually wears off. Or just remove the vac filter...

    Lx3310 Strong Exhaust smell/odor

Funny thing is mine has stopped doing it and I haven't had the TSB performed to address it. I'm going to go with it just needing time to burn something out of the DPF.

Dipping toes in the world of Welding

I bought one of these this year. I already had the gas bottle from my old Lincoln. I went ahead an put in the 240V circuit to run it at 240 volts. The catch to the 120v welders is you still need a dedicated circuit that will handle a higher amp draw to get full power so you might as well go all...

Is the PTO shaft coming off Kubota and JD tractors common 1-3/8?

If you have a mid PTO it will have a finer spline. All of the rear PTOs on compact and farm tractors will be the 1-3/8" 6 spline.

    A little Machinist advice please

You might could drill it out and bush it. Are you sure the shaft is metric? I would first measure the shaft and pulley diameter and try to find a generic replacement. Without seeing the design and parts list it's difficult to give good advice. Grainger sells some inexpensive shaft reducer...

    A little Machinist advice please

A new pulley or pulley repair in itself will not fix your problems. You will need to replace the pulley AND shaft and determine why it is working lose to begin with.

Tool for Hydraulic Cylinder repair Question

I see this is an old thread but thought I would add some input anyways. Those u-cup seal installers may work for some but every time I try to use one the seal pops back off before it's lined up with the groove and I end up installing it with my finger anyways. I saw a homemade one made from a...

    Insurance

Where's Waldo? The last time I bought a car from a dealership it was worse than when I closed on the mortgage on my house. I've never signed so many documents I hadn't read in my life. the finance manager had a smart desk that the top was a huge touch pad. He would fill in blanks and spin it...

    Mid Mount Mower blades

I will also add that many of the generic blades are 3/16" thick rather than 1/4" thick like the originals. When I put Oregon brand blades on my LX I had to buy another set of Bellville washers to get them tight. It had two washers on each blade from the factory and now has 3 on each blade. I saw...

    FEL while mowing.

My LX rides better with the weight of the loader on so I just leave the bucket off.

Dipping toes in the world of Welding

I got by with and bragged on a 120V Lincoln SP100 for over 30 years. This year I upgraded to a Prime Weld 180 and I love it. Very reasonably priced unit that runs on 120V or 240V. I highly recommend going ahead with a dedicated 240V circuit and using shielding gas. I have only used it for mig...

    Homemade Channel Iron Forks

Yeah I welded in the few places where it went outside and cleaned it up with the grinder some. It looks fine from 10 feet away. I seem to be able to get long straight cut settings and travel speed okay but the curves give me trouble.

    Homemade Channel Iron Forks

Some of you might have read my eBay skid steer plate saga but I will repeat it in this thread. I ordered a 5/16” thick skid steer blank off eBay. It arrived and was way off from specs to fit right. The seller gave me a partial refund to fix it so I was in it for $76.02 plus my time and...

Securing factory warranty when buying from private seller

I got mixed answers on this when I bought my LX used. One dealer supposedly filled out transfer forms but I never heard back on that. I registered the tractor and implements online with Kubota in my name. Later I called Kubota to see if I could verify it was registered in my name and it was but...

Quick hitches, adjustable widths, or Cat1 adapted to a bit narrower than Cat1 ?

Implement modifications are part of the quick hitch rabbit hole. Especially older and foreign made implements. The upside is once they are made to fit it doesn't have to be repeated and the advantages of the quick hitch are realized.
