    MTL Grapple - My Experience

I ordered my 60” MTL grapple last Monday evening. It was delivered yesterday, one week later. Can’t complain about the customer service. It looks to be a sturdy tool with all the basics covered, good welds, good steel, grease zirks where they should be. I’m pleased and it was $1269 delivered...

Summit 3rd Function Valve - Install Report

Ordered the above for my L3130. They shipped immediately, arrived a couple day later. The Kit came complete and with good instructions. I spent 30-40 minutes at my workbench reading through things and pre-assembling all of the fittings. You'll need a 7/8", 1" & 1 & 1/16th" wrenches. I'd...

    Electrical system question

Hi Folks, Have a L3130 I'm installing a 3rd function valve and the kit suggest going directly to the battery. I'd like to only have power when the ignition is on. Any tips on going in and finding a suitable place to connect for post ignition power? I'm guessing I'll need to sniff around the...

    Business Must Be Good

I've decided I need to add a 3rd function and buy a grapple. Last Friday, between the hours of 8:00 am to 8:30 am, I called 3 different Kubota dealers in the surrounding communities. As told them I wanted to add a 3rd function and buy a grapple. None of the " Phone People " knew what I was...

    Front & Rear 3rd Function?

I need another line of fluid for a grapple on the front ( which I plan to use regularly ) and I need a line to the rear for small seed drill ( which I'll rent from the NRCS and use rarely ). Would it be crazy to add a 3rd function kit ( i'm thinking the Summit Kit ) for the grapple and then...

I Folks, I have a FIMCO 40 gallon sprayer which came with my tractor purchase ( L3130 ). I want to kill off a 9 acre field with glyphosate for winter planting of a pollinator mix. Do you think this sprayer ( and my novice skill set ) is up for the job? I'd like to do it myself and think...

    Field Borders?

Hi Folks, I'm rehabbing an overgrown piece of property. I've spent much of the past year beating back brush & overgrowth. I have a 10 acre hay field which will be put into pollinator habitat this winter. I wondering what a good fence to field border would be? I have a 60" rotary mower...

    PTO HP - Finish Mower

If I have it right, my L3130 has 25 hp at the PTO drive. A nice 72” finish mower is for sale at a decent price locally but the sales brochure I looked up suggest 35 PTO hp. I’d like to think my tractor can handle a 6’ mower. Am just missing something here?

    Soffit Mystery

Hi Folks. This is off topic but I’m betting someone can answer this question. I’m at my Son’s home in Denver and there are what looks to be access panels in the soffit all around the house. It doesn’t make sense to me. Anyone know why these were cut in?

    Any Gravel Spreading Tips?

We have no rain for 6 weeks. Last Friday, I took the afternoon off and had 3 truckloads of AB3 gravel ordered to my place for a new driveway / parking space. I knew rain was a chance but we'd been missed many times in the dry spell. Long story but while they were enroute, the sky opened up...

    PTO Quick Attach?

I did a search and came up dry. My hand strength is not what it once was. Attaching and detaching the PTO shaft on my Landpride Brushhog is a challenge. It has the little pin you must push and, gosh darn it, it's hard to do. I see some aftermarket connectors going for about $400. Is there...

    Missouri Driveway Project - Progress

It's been hot here in the Hartland. Temps around 98-100 for the 10 days or so. I've been planning a driveway and have finally found time to do the prepwork. Drainage around my building was less than optimal. The building is 25 years old and things have settled over the years. I used the...

Asphalt Millings for Driveway / Parking around shed?

Here in Eastern MO, we've had a sold 7"+ of rain in the 20 days or so. Some torrential downpours. As a result, my gravel drive ( which I'm planning for an upgrade ) has eroded with a 8" wide / 8" deep gully forming through it at the most sloped area. I'll need to do some grading / water...

    Seasonal Creek Crossing Suggestions

Hello All, I have a farm road / trail that provides access to the South end of my property. It crosses a wet weather creek which is really a just drainage ditch from the hay field but it drains 4-5 acres and will flow when we get and significant rainfall. The soil in my parts is pretty much...

Locust Thorns - Threat to tires?

I'm cleaning up some meadows which are full of Honey Locust. The thorns on the Locust range from small needle like on the knee high versions to 4-6" daggers on the full size tees. My plan is to cut, treat and stack the locust on the meadow edge. Then, come through with a 6" rental chipper to...

    Mystery Implement

Can anyone tell me what I have here? More out of curiosity than anything else. It has a fin like a water ski. It has a frame which looks like it would pivot on a pin. I can’t figure it out.
