    finishing mower

I think trying to fit a MMM to an old tractor is a bad idea. If you ever switched tractors, you'd have to switch all of the connectors. A finish mower could work on any tractor, so it's future proof.

    QH05 OR QH16?

Unless you are buying nonstandard QA implements, there is no reason to have adjustments.

"Burnishing" your new brakes. WTF......... Now I've heard it all. (I'm raising the Bullsh!t flag)

I don't know about breaking in brakes but it seems like they would break in over time. Unless you are trying to do speed stops, I'm not seeing that it would matter early after changing shoes.

Bat house/kestrel nesting box pole construction critique and suggestions wanted.

I wouldn’t use a carriage bolt because you can’t hold onto both sides to tighten or to loosen.

    Beet juice and chains...

The loading of the tires will make the ride slightly worse, but also not that heavy on the small tires you have. If you found chains helped before, they will probably help on the tractor. R4s aren’t the best tires in snow.

Necessary to Clean Mower Deck After Every Session?

I think it has a lot to do with how wet the grass is and how fast it dries on your deck. I remove the buildup from time to time off my riding lawnmower and pull behind, but not every time. I had a push mower that made it super easy. On that one, I rinsed it off frequently.

    Hydraulic pump strain

I'd call my dealer's service department. You shouldn't be having issues with a tractor you just bought.

    Hormuz and ORD

No way would I keep diesel for a year and a half. To each his own though. Oil isn't really moving very much if you look at the prices. Apparently China and Iran are impacted the most if Hormuz gets shut down. In any case, there is a ton of production that can be turned up the world over...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Destructed a retaining wall. We will build it back with a different design tomorrow. It was originally built without tractor a few years ago and too close to our bush. Some critter liked to burrow in it close to the bush which made it hard on the bush. The dogs dug for them. It was about 3...

    Dealer runaround?

But, there is also just the possibility that the salesman didn't realize there was a TSB. When he spoke to the service manager for final check, the service manager said ... we have to do the TSB. I'm assuming most tractors don't require a TSB to be completed before delivery. Oops. Someone...

    Dealer runaround?

What kind of response were you wanting? I don't see why you have an issue with the people here.

Damn! I feel like a newby.

As long as you got it back working, that's all that matters.

    Thanks, PennDOT

I agree it's not how much we are paying. Some people just don't care whether they are government or private company employees.

    Thanks, PennDOT

Fwiw, the local power company replaced our underground power lines and left a mess last fall along our unmaintained by county road. It was too late to fix before Winter. In any case, I fixed it this Spring. No, they shouldn’t have left it that way, but complaining doesn’t get it fixed. Good...

    L3902 vs L3560 Implements

The 5 HP rule is just an approximation. It depends on how fast, how low, and how often you want to mow. Fwiw, I have a 72 that I use with my L2501HST. It was recommended by my dealer to be wide enough to go next to/under fences. Unless your ground is really smooth, you won't be going...

    long range weather procrastinators

Look at all of the forecasts and the almanac. Then, go outside and look up. When you look up, you'll see if it is snowing or not. ;)

    Rim Guard

I've never seen a tire that has Rim Guard molded in that is the Beet Juice derived Rim Guard product. If you think about it, it doesn't make sense to imply that the tire is filled when it isn't even installed. Fwiw, my rims have a Rim Guard sticker.

    New Cars/Trucks

Consider buying used, low mileage, well maintained vehicles in a model/brand that has a great reputation for reliability. Not all cars rust out after a few years. It depends on the area of the country. I used to trade every few years, too. That meant I was losing extra money every few years...

Initial purchase list vs "wish list"

The construction is different with thicker sidewalls on the R4.

Rubber or Chain guards on Rotary Cutter

I've heard some say that chains in back distribute the grass more evenly.
