    New Cars/Trucks

they keep it at 80 during the day at work in the shop. It isn't terrible but I wish it was 75. It runs all the time anyway, at 80 or at 70 it just runs all day long. So the bill wouldn't change. Did 29 years at a non-air conditioned shop and that was enough of it. After I left they put a...

Fix for my G1800 with intermittent starter click but wont crank issue, probably applies to G1900 G2000 and others

those old G series mowers were notorious for electrical problems. Maybe not so well publicized but the rest of the tractor is great, it's almost always electrical stuff that goes south on them these require 12v to run (electric lift pump). They'll theoretically run without it but you'd have...

    New Cars/Trucks

I do Polaris stuff for a living, they have two EV ORV's that I service. The legacy EV Ranger and the new Ranger Kinetic (2023-2024). The legacy EV's were junk. The newest ones are a LOT better, for now. Problem with them is, when there is a problem, it is a whole lot more complicated to...

    New Cars/Trucks

live in nebraska for about 11 years. Rust-ville. If you had a car older than 5 years old, it was a miracle, or it came from off. Did a pretty good job on an EV today. Drives fine, no cluster, no infotainment. Mfg says check fuses and relays probably gonna find your issue there. Yeah, no...

    Published weight

the published weight is of the tractor only. No tires, no wheels, no operator, no implements or attachments. add to that: loader loader bucket SSQA if you have it tires/wheels and any rear implements and then you will have the weight the dealer has all that information in the wholegoods...

    New Cars/Trucks

glad i don't live in the north anymore. I keep vehicles forever. 2003 f250 I bought in 13, still have it. Just under 300,000 mi and still kicking. repairs cost less than new vehicles for sure. I'm gonna need a transmission sooner or later, $4500 quoted locally. That's a whole lot cheaper...

    A little Machinist advice please

make sure the nut isn't bottoming out on the shoulder of the shaft. If it does, the pulley won't be tightened up fully. and destroys the pulley. We always used an axle washer under the pulley to help tighten it up.

LX3310 Out of control rpms even after shut off

they call that a runaway about only a few things can cause it. It's getting artificial fuel, or runnin on it's own oil. best way to shut one down is to cut off it's air supply, via your hand over the filter inlet, or collapse the rubber intake tube like what Iv'e had to do in the past...

    A little Machinist advice please

Is that a JS or JA 65 series mower? If so, just get rid of it. Deere's venture into mass marketing, and they failed with those too. The JX/JE series and 14SB mowers, however, have been awesome, just expensive. I buy them from time to time and give them to folks who need them. I used to...

T2380 - Part Number Help - Fuel Tank Fitting

makes me wonder if if's the same grommet that fits the ZG Kommander mowers. You can get the whole pickup tube assembly with a filter on the end of it for like $20-some dollars. Is it the right length? I can't answer that question.

    Water or coolant

I replaced a few of those engines. The books were wrong. Said to use water, so that's what people did. Then they froze and broke when it got real cold. Also tends to rust the cast iron. Use antifreeze, green stuff is perfectly fine. I typically buy it 50/50 premixed because it's easier and...

Belly mount GF1800E went bang, then smoke

it doesn't have spark plugs, which is why they don't mention them. if you have oil all over, clean it off and figure out where it's coming from.

    D902 pistons for bored block

usually on the block under the injection pump. There is a machined surface, under and to the right of the pump, that has the engine number stamped into it. Often it's not easy to find, so look real closely. It should say something like "D902E-28873" or something. Everything after the dash is...

yes, 100% in agreement. They report on stuff but they rarely if ever tell the truth. Those of us who saw what really happened are the only ones who really know.

    Tractor shutting off

Going of of memory here.... look at positive battery cable follow it from the positive terminal, it splits off. One cable goes to the starter, other goes to the rest of the electrical system. There is usually a black plastic joint where they split off. Inside of that is a connector that...

    3rd party filters

I work for a dealer, albeit no longer with kubota dealer you wouldn't believe how much equipment comes through that has aftermarket fluids and filters, that has engine or transmission problems. Nobody believes it, and I'm told to keep quiet about work related stuff, so that's that. but it...

    L 3901 weird display, won't start

low voltage. check the battery voltage with a digital voltmeter. Leave the meter on the batery and then have someone try to turn the engine over. Voltage should not drop below about 10v. open (no load) voltage should be 12.5-12.9 for a good battery. I know you said it was good but...
