    Engine Oil

I agree it probably would have a lot to do with your dealer. If rotella T6 was made in 10w30 that's what I would use.Delo is available in that grade but I like the high zinc and phosphorus in the rotella,it was not lowered to 800 ppm to meet the sn rating. This is just my thoughts like said before...

    Engine Oil

Just a quick question;with warranties the way they are now ,does anyone see a conflict if you had a claim and you told them that 5w40 was in the crankcase. The op manual with my 2501 list sae30,10w30,and 15w40 for it.The info is clearly outdated because it instructs to use CI rated oil which is a...

    Fuel consumption

As I mentioned previously,I'm not fussing about my 2501 fuel usage,it just uses more than my Ford 601 does. Having power steering ,live power, front end loader and 4wd makes it so much more safer and enjoyable to operate.I just filled it up at 21.8 hrs and will be more precise on my figures. It...

    Chainsaw deal of the year

Sidecar ,I too did a muffler mod and pulled caps on mixture screws.Echo ,like all others, choke them down to make quieter and lean them down to pass California emissions. A 1/8 to 1/4 turn richer makes a big difference in power.

    Chainsaw deal of the year

Orangeglo ,the guy in power equipment said that ,in their store , that the cs-490 was going to be the largest saw they sell.Just not a big seller in that particular Home Depot I guess. At another one ,about 25 miles away ,still in stock and $399.99

    Chainsaw deal of the year

That's true! No they only had the one. That stores biggest saw is going to be the CS-490.50cc,the 590 is 60cc. I went to another one hoping to find more of them but they are going to continue selling the 590. Their price was $399.99! I like echo stuff ,my weed eater is 9 yrs old took out muffler...

    Chainsaw deal of the year

At the Home Depot recently I was walking thru the outdoor equipment (just gotta do it,lol) ,looked down in floor and found a echo CS-590 timber wolf saw 20" bar for $100.03 unopened unused needless to say it came home with me! I had been looking for a bigger saw and this just fit the bill. I...

    Fuel consumption

Just to be forthcoming,my 2501 stays in 4wd ALL the time and I do idle a lot, but when using it ,I run it at about 2000 rpm that seems to be the sweet spot for the hst.

    Fuel consumption

I will try to be more precise on checking.I do know it was full when delivered to me and at (10 hrs)1/2 tank on gauge I put in 5 gals (the gauge appears to be really accurate) and again at 15 hrs,now at 21 hrs adding 5 more.It pulls very good for 25 hp.To me, it seems to be a higher hp engine...

    Fuel consumption

Just wondering ,I have a 2501(21 hours on it) it seems rather thirsty. It is using about a gallon of fuel an hour just puttering around. Its not a big issue at all and if it's always like this that's ok.My 601 only uses about 5gallons in 8 hours pulling it hard.Like I said ,not a problem ,just...

    R4 to R1?

That is very little difference in height. I think I measured right ,it was dark out.You are right about the yard. The r4 do very little damage if any and mine are loaded with methanol and 15 psi air.

    R4 to R1?

My R4's measure 58 1/2" wide ,roughly -with 13" of tread on the ground per side with a drawbar height of 13" off the ground. As far as doing hills(up down and sideways), they are doing fine,as long as it's dry-just a note I am always in 4wheel pull

    R4 to R1?

Thanks for the responses- Rdrett I appreciate the offer ,I just want to remain low and wider with the tractor stance.Whole goods has the set for around $1500 with freight and I have thought about it ,but it does make the tractor higher and I'm afraid less stable on hillsides (that's all we have...

    Wiring, a treat to rodents

    R4 to R1?

Where can I find R1 tires for R4 sized rims on a L 2501? I wanted the R4's for the width and tractor height but they are totally useless in wet ground.
