What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Over the weekend I threw on the blower and got the carry-all positioned for sand bucket duty..... Nothing thrilling, just winter change-over....

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Got creative this weekend to get the blower off the old pallet from the service dept that was then on top of my rolling dolly. Wife spotted for me and was a coconspirator with strapping the unit to the forks........ Was able to place it back exactly where we needed it on the rolling dolly to...

Kubota K Connect Snowblower problems explained.

Let's be clear here......the Ram 2500 is my truck.......and she is temporarily driving it as I take over the 2009 GX470 SUV with hunting gear during the season with the dogs.....as I refuse to let her stink up the new 2023 Toyota Highlander with her horse crap and equine gear.......and I also...

In the next couple weeks I will swap out the FEL for the blower and I will over validate everything is together as intended and will take some pics etc. If this new part wears more correctly than the original dogs, I will place my chips on the Chinesium metallurgy as well.......

Kubota K Connect Snowblower problems explained.

For clarity........ Blower and K Connect were taken to the Kubota Dealer as it was under warranty.......which of course was determined this was a "wearable item" and therefore not a warranty item. With it already at the dealer and with them already having dug into the implement (ie. labor) the...

Oh I thought the spring question was talking about something within the dogs etc......you are 100% right with the external spring on the engagement lever........I read that original question wrong, thanks for the clarification and correction.

Kubota K Connect Snowblower problems explained.

So in checking my own sanity I went and read the snowblower manual again this morning and I found a really interesting nugget. The MANUAL actually RECOMMENDS RAISING THE SNOWBLOWER to remove the top layer of snow in deep snow. Check out the sentence starting with "For best results...." So I...

Kubota K Connect Snowblower problems explained.

Same here. Exactly the same. As you and I established earlier in this thread, we basically use the same blower (BX2830) in the damn near same exact way, which is perfectly within the expected use case for this "commercial blower", yet mine ate itself. Which, brings me to where my head is at...

Kubota K Connect Snowblower problems explained.

It is NOT in the manual for either the blower or K-Connect...... And think about what that user process would look like. Drive to area of snow to be blown Lower blower Pull throttle back to idle Engage PTO Throttle back up to full throttle Drive forward blowing snow Throttle down to idle...

Kubota K Connect Snowblower problems explained.

Did Kubota ever really say to not raise the blower? I know no where in my documentation Maybe I am experiencing missing time, where does Kubota say not to raise it while running the blower? I know if doesn't state that in the manual for the K-Connect or Blower......

Kubota K Connect Snowblower problems explained.

It is exactly that as far as I can tell. There is nothing to cushion it other than the fact you engage the PTO at idle, but whatever force that PTO applies at idle when engaged is what those two dogs experience 100%. Unless I am missing something significant. There is no clutch or slippage...

Kubota K Connect Snowblower problems explained.

If I am understanding your question correctly, the answer is "no" in that this coupler is engaged while the PTO is NOT spinning and really it can be engaged once per season when you mount the blower to the tractor. Then when the PTO is engaged (at idle) the coupler just transfers the power from...

I will try and remember to document that when I mount the blower, right now it is on a pallet with the K-connect attached as it was returned from the dealer........ But yes, I will do my best to document it.

Kubota K Connect Snowblower problems explained.

Here is what the brand new replacement coupler looks like prior to any actual use....... I am going to try and remember to document the wear/failure of this part over the season. Top picture is with the spring loaded handle disengaged and the bottom picture is with eh handle fully engaged in...

Outside of this particular issue (which is a BIG one) the unit is a dream to operate and does exactly what I need it to do.....however this weak link NEEDs to be addressed. I implored the manufacturer to explore a different grade of steel etc.
