Wish I did a lot of things sooner

I have a similar story about my Dad. We had a huge lawn and me, being the oldest, had the task of mowing that lawn with a push-type reel lawnmower the whole time I was growing up. Then I got drafted so my brother got to do the honors with the reel lawnmower. Well, he graduated high school...

In search of a better truck for towing the M6060 and folding cutter.

Every truck my Dad ever owned - always a 3/4 ton 4x4 Ford - was Candy Apple Red. Here's one of them....my Mom picking apples, using the truck as a platform. The David Brown's FEL is holding up a branch that was about to break due to the weight of the apples. Pennsylvania, 1972.

Music While Working on your Tractor

Don't listen to music when working on my tractor...because all I ever have to do is change oil and that takes only a few minutes. But when working the tractor in the field - I have my own compilation of music that I love, loaded onto a flash drive. Plug that in to the tractor's stereo and I'm...

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

Season was over with and I'm sure they knew it and were comfortable watching me take their picture. In Nevada bow season is in August. Black powder is September, and rifle starts the first weekend in October.

    Deciding on a M7060HD

All I can add to this discussion is that my M7060 is now 9 years old and has ~ 800 hours on it and all I've ever had to do to it in all that time is change oil/filters. 'Nuff said!

^This! We're not gonna believe you even own a tractor unless you post a few pictures!

Whether it makes sense for "personal use" depends on what you'll be towing. For those of us, like the OP, who tow heavy, a gas engine makes no sense. The 7.3 gas engine is a great engine from everything I read about it...but it doesn't even come close to the diesel when you are talking 20,000...

For the most part, I agree...but right now it appears that many of the 2019 and up Ram Cummins engines are failing big time because of the hydraulic lifters they started using. Lots of talk on the on-line forums about this. Here's one...

This might be a bit bigger than what you are looking for. It has the 6.7 Cummins but sounds like the emissions crap has been deleted because it states the truck cannot be registered in California...

Nope, not anymore. There's a trucking company (runs a fleet of big flatbeds, hauling mostly for the mines) that advertises doing "minor engine repairs" but that's it.

No Cummins shop anywhere near me so I buy my Fleetguard (Cummins recommended) filters on-line from Geno's Garage. However, the local Walmart carries the MoPar filters for the Cummins for an excellent price.

Fiddle farting around on the farm.

I looked real seriously at the new Broncos also (I put a lot of miles on a 1973 Bronco and really liked it) but after following their forums for a while I said "No Way". Way too many electrical/electronic problems - and EVERYTHING on the Bronco is run by electricity and a computer. What is so...

Well, its good to know what the weak points are - and to get ahead of those weak points if possible. Personally, I prefer to read about those guys who have over 400,000 miles on their trucks and the engine is still running fine. Just because I'm a "glass is half full" kind of guy, not "glass...

    Barrel Racing

Barrel racing and pole bending are HUGE here in rural Nevada. I'm amazed at how many properties around here have an arena with 3 barrels sitting out there, and there are contests going on all the time at the nearest Events Center and all around northern Nevada/southern Oregon/southern Idaho.

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

I went mirrorless several years ago and will never look back. The ability to make exposure corrections and SEE the results in that excellent viewfinder before shooting is wonderful. I almost never get a shot with improper exposure anymore. You are getting some great shots. It is amazing how...

Yes! That one's a beauty and not too many miles on it considering it is 20 years old. If it has good maintenance records and a clean CarFax I'd jump on it. Price is high...almost no depreciation in 20 years...but as I said, they are in demand because taken care of, they'll last forever...
