What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Had to giggle a bit. I guess it could be used to till with some very serious and erroneous adjustments, but not very deep and there won’t be any finding where the top soil went. Except for the 6” deep layer on himself and the tractor.

I’ve searched a long time for a used RFM. There’s a few auction houses around, but most of what I see is so beat up and worn out and priced ridiculously high. By the time I could invest the time to overhaul and restore it to usable and presentable condition, I may as well buy a new one. It seems to be that way for every implement I have. Every piece I have purchased new. People just don’t like to part with Grampa’s old tractors and attachments until they sit in a barn for 50 years with a sack of fertilizer on top of it, or out in a corner of a field with water standing on it and volunteer pines growing out of every crevice and opening. “Like New” doesn’t really mean the same thing I learned. Used equipment is a racket. Just the other day I looked at a used 6’ box blade that was missing the scarifiers, has more rust than paint, and a couple other repairs needed. Owner was asking $800 for it. I can get a brand new 6-foot King Kutter blade with my wife’s TSC discount for about $1000. I have a 4 footer(Landpride BB1248), but it’s too small for my LX (54” track with oversized R14’s). Got it (wrongly sized by the dealer) when I bought the tractor. I didn’t know how important it was for a boxblade to be wider than the track of the tractor. I do now.

Around here I've found several used flails. I have three, 5', 6', 7'. bought the 6' first and it was needing more attention then any of them but I only paid $400 for it. The five foot looked like it had been setting in a barn for years, I paid (I think) $550 for it. I had talked to the man selling it and made an agreement. Had to drive an hour to get there and then found it was a 5 footer when he said it was 6'. He was the mayor of this very small town and took an implement to an auction the city owned, so stayed to see how it sold, and then bought the mower thinking it was a tiller.

I bought the 7 footer from a guy who bought it from the Corp of Engineers at an auction. I paid him $750 and it has the gauge wheels on the back. It's an excellent mower. Never done anything to it but grease it. I don't think he understood how to use it or maybe just wanted to sell, I don't know. I use it all the time on my Deutz 6206. I mow pasture and usually have it set to leave 8-10" of grass. When it is set all the way down it mows like a push Lawnboy, excellent cut.

My friend used his Kubota to move an old implement out of the way, clear the brambles around a car where I want to take a few parts out before it goes to the scrap yard and pull the car forward a bit.

I'm not really sure how it happened or what went through it. The end result was a unwanted hole in the side that was slowly was leaking air.

I asked the owner, the shed in question was a stable for a farm where they kept animals (pigs and cows) supposedly in winter.

The shed is in the earliest title deeds from 1815 which also contains the original farmhouse and a major extension to such. So the farm house and this shed most likely date back much earlier.

Both building are also on the first detailed map drawn from the area in 1840.

Such stonework was very common in Ireland, they used stones that were found in the fields for the buildings.

Yes, the one on the left (last picture) is a 1983 W123 estate, but, ahem, it is not being dismantled, it is my daily driver.

The one on the right where I take some parts out is a 1973 W114 Coupé, beyond repair unfortunately. But the M110 2.8l straight six engine is still turning smoothely, so I keep that and the rear axle is identical to the 123, so I want the differential (10% lower revs) and the drive shafts (getting more and more difficult to get).

yeah the sa20 on mine doesnt turn fast but its got more than enough power to do the holes i need. fortunately im just west of the granite in my area and its all sand with maybe palm sized rocks at worse.

whats killing me is the lack of rain right now. my new pasture needs it bad.

Today after lifting out the engine with an engine crane we moved it into the shed (for temporary storage) with the tractor.

Then we lifted the back of the car to pull out the rear axle. And then the front to remove the wooden blocks under the wheels.

How can people live without a tractor? Best thing ever invented!

planted 30 trifoliate orange seedlings in the strip i tilled last weekend when i used the 3010 to get a new phone. the tallest of these is 6" tall, but they all have 1/2" thorns on them already. hopefully they won't all die from the heat

Previously, I mowed, plowed, and tilled a patch of level land to get some fill dirt. The soil around our house has been settling since we moved in about 7 yrs ago.
The fill dirt is about the same elevation as a nearby corn field. Good quality topsoil.
A neighbor with a dump truck and a skid steer helped with the areas around the house. He spread about 20 tons around wing walls.
I filled in some ruts in the dirt roads, fixed the yard bank I hit with the loader, and filled in an old collapsing septic tank.

Well didn't do too much. Came home after a long dat at work and early 20k steps and immediately jumped on the tractor and worked on some drainage that I meant to finish and haven't gotten to it yet do it being muddy...now that we have hit a dry spell and it was dried up, I could get the tractor down there without it sinking and finish up my drainage ditch. Its not perfect, I still need to get some stone but its suppose to rain a lot this week so I wanted to have a better path for the water to go. I think it's gonna be fine.

Put the land plane on the other day and worked the driveway for about an hour. I haven't dragged it all year so it was getting a little neglected, especially on the hill to our parking area after a big rain last week. Got it looking minty fresh again, and the Mrs' is happy because there's no more grass growing up in the middle.
