Steering wheel wont stay centered

Every time I use my lx4020 the steering wheel is ends up in a different position. I have a spinner knobs positioned at nine o'clock when going straight but after using the tractor it ends up somewhere else. Is this normal?

100% normal.

The steering is hydrostatic so there is no mechanical connection to the front wheels.

If a tractor with this type of steering is parked the same way with the steering wheel in a certain position, will that take care of the problem?

Kubota’s website indicates the LX4020 has “hydraulic power steering”. Assuming that is correct, yes your experience is normal.

No, it will not.

No. You just have to get used to it...it's just one reason I don't like 'spinners' on my tractor.

If the orbital valve has some leakyby, you can even see the wheel change position slowly while drive straight down the road.

I image the steering function is a real nightmare for folks with OCD or anal about everything! Nothing can be done to change it, except to abandon it.

If you steer hard left or right to the limit of the wheels stops, and maintain steering wheel pressure against the stop, the hydraulic steering cylinder has an over-pressure release valve in its circuit that allows the steering wheel to continue rotating past the initial stop, which changes the wheels' relationship to the steering wheel position.
