What was with the optional passing lane in orange paint in your second pic?

How was it pulling thru the frost?
My wife informed me I was unable to draw a straight line. So, she drew another line. I then decided I would just dig right thru the middle of both of them.

Excavator did well. It was Yanmar 35 from the local rental company. Didn't have much issue with the frost, it pulled right through it. Thankfully, we have had some recent above normal temps, so most of it was minimal frost. I wasn't sure what type of struggles the ground would provide us due to all the recent snow, then the melt, then the freeze, then the thaw. Made it a little more muddier than I would of liked, but we made it.

We had discussed trenching it in, but was unsure what we might find, which we found an old section of fence, old buried furniture, and a pile of buried bricks (small pile). We made sure the bottom was free from anything shape and placed loose dirt back on top of it all. Had to get a the L3560 out to get a few buckets of dirt to fill in the locations where we had removed debris from to make sure we had a clean hole. I was told dirty holes (rock/sharp debris) can cause you problems and puncture the line.

No leaks and we now have water in the house. I think it went well for the first time of ever attempting anything like this and only the second time I have used an excavator.

I'm away for a couple of weeks but ordered six 1/2" Ag couplers from Summit Hydraulics and six 3/8 BSPP to 1/2" NPTF adapters from Discount Hydraulic Hose. These will be going on the M6060 rear remotes to replace the useless Faster couplers that leak oil all over the back end. They should be waiting for me when I get back next week.

I also ordered some PTFE pipe sealing compound for the NPTF end of the adapter. I don't think the adapters come with o-rings so I'll be reusing the ones on the Faster couplers if they're in good enough shape. If not I can stop by a local hardware store and get new ones.

Yesterday I was going to use the L3901DT and my WoodMaxx chipper. When I took the box-blade off I found that one of the attachment lift pin stopper was loose on the quick hitch. Turns out the pin that connected the lift pin stopper and the connecting rod to the handle had come out. So I had to take the pin that connected the handle to the connecting rod out so I could put a nut and bolt on the lift pin stopper and connecting rod. Then trying to get the spring compressed and the pin back in the handle was a lot of fun. Could have use another set of hands. All together it took me almost 2 hours from start to finish.

By the time I was done with all that, I decided not to put the chipper on the tractor.

I find those kind of jobs like a big tool magnet. If outside I make repeated trips into the garage for another tool one after another. I wonder how I ever got anything done before having all the tools. But I did in a lot less time!

I was able to get some chipping done today with the L3901DT and the WoodMaxx chipper. I ran the chipper for an hour and twenty-three minutes. I was able to clean up a couple piles I had.

The electric CooP is clearing the right-of-way and there where some cedars that I wanted to get out before they chipped everything up. So I put the grapple on the tractor for that larger logs.

Well today was the day. The dealer dropped her off this morning. I played with it for a couple hours.
