Oh, I am like this all the time! My sense of humor isn't for everyone, it's best that I live in the country away from people. I don't like change and I don't like stupid.
I think you're hilarious!

Tractors and implements are just another example of no established standards or commonality.

NPT, ORB, JIC, ORFS, BSPP .... and that's just a partial alphabet soup of incompatibility. When choosing a coupler, Summit Hydraulics presents you with some options.

....The Summit Hydraulics couplers on the multiplier are a 3/4"-16 ORB thread whereas the Faster couplers from Kubota are a 3/8" BSPP. Oh joy! I'm hoping I can find an adapter that would allow me to use SH couplers or a coupler like the SH but with 3/8" BSPP threads.

I only own one tiny Kubota, it uses NPT, I think it's because there are no external o-rings to go bad and they don't vibrate loose (both situations would likely cause leaks). Maybe yours uses BSPP, that I don't know, but BSPP is British Standard Parallel Pipe and uncommon in hydraulics that I've seen except on manifolds where a BSPP male to JIC (female) is used (there's always exceptions, right?). Maybe check it, and if it's BSPP Valparaiso Hydraulic Services might have QDs for it.

In this case you should embrace BSP.
It was there long before NPT. ;)

And besides that, any measuring system not based on the Arabic decimal system is for the bin anyway. Way too cumbersome for practical use.
I don't want to get too high on my horse, but that archaic system fostered the 'greatest country in the world'. Including saving the world from the bad guys. OK, we had a little help. LOL.

....That’s interesting though…where do you suppose that Metal Band came from? 🤔
Los Angeles?

The BSPP bonded metal retainer band keeps the sealing gasket from blowing out under pressure, allowing the gasket to form a reusable high-pressure seal while requiring only minimal installation torque on the fitting minimizing thread wear.

ORB is functionally equivalent using a recessed surface to confine a more affordable and easily replaceable o-ring. Without the "metal washer" to crush against ORB may vibrate loose more easily, which is likely why BSPP is still used on manifold blocks attached to directly machinery.

There's no maybe. I wasn't asking if the thread is 3/8 BSPP on the Faster couplers, I was stating that it is. 😂 Also, I'm well aware at to what BSPP stands for but others might not be familiar with the standard.

If there's a way to avoid using an adapter to convert from 3/8 BSPP to 1/2" NPT then I'd rather go that route, but so far I'm having no luck in finding Pioneer style couplers that have a male 3/8 BSPP. I'll look at the link(s) you provided. Thanks. (y)

You don’t have to explain anything to me… I am no vocabulary / humor police…my main point was what @McMXi just explained.

Crikey, what blooming onion put them in there? He must be thick as a wood plank.

Valparaiso Hydraulic Services might have 'em from what I recollect.
The last line in the attached Faster catalog is the fitting that comes (or came) standard on the M6060/M7060 rear remotes and probably most of the bigger stuff.

The fittings are stamped with the following alpha numeric:

@WI_Hedgehog, thanks for the link to Discount Hydraulic Hose. The adapters on Amazon are a rip off at $147.74 with shipping (and I'm a Prime customer!). With shipping, the "same" fittings from DHH are less than half the cost.

The VHS website is a $hit show so no go there I'm afraid. 😂

100% correct, the greatest system for the greatest country. (y)

I don't typically watch or like SNL, but this has to be the one of the best skits that the show has ever produced.

"We fight for a country of our own, a new nation where we choose our own laws, choose our own leaders, and choose our own systems of weights and measures." 😂

Had a little wind yesterday. Not much, but enough to topple an aging out Virginia Pine. It was hanging over one of our trails and we have guests coming tomorrow so needed to get it at least cleaned up enough to clear the trail today despite ground still being covered by snow on top of a sheet of ice.
IMG_7871.jpeg

Started with a double line pull with a redirect to finish pulling it off the stump and clear of a smaller tree I preferred not to take out.
IMG_7873.jpeg

That went pretty well. Let it sit a few minutes to make sure it wasn’t going to move any further on its own.
IMG_7874.jpeg

Rehooked a single line pull to pull it straight back. That put it on the ground.
IMG_7875.jpeg
Virginia pines don’t self prune so even healthy ones have a bunch of dead limbs below the crown. Its crown was still green, but the bottom was clearly in bad shape.
IMG_7876.jpeg
Grappled a couple trunk sections and a pile of limbs to their respective piles.
IMG_7879.jpeg

A few minutes with a leaf blower finished off today’s part of the job. Will finish cleanup when the ice is gone and the inevitable mud dries up a bit,

Glad Discount Hydraulic Hose is working out for you, I order most everything but QDs from them.

The Valparaiso site is even more difficult when actually placing the order, BUT they take phone orders too. I haven't found better prices on Quick Disconnects, and given I needed boxes of them it cut my costs significantly, allowing me to switch to Flat-Face. Since the tractor is my main landscaping machine I switch implements often and FF make sense IF one can afford them.

Graded the driveway—sort of—gonna have to wait for rain this week to do a proper job. Neighbor with the prius is probably going to cuss me, but that’s what you get for driving a prius and live down in a holler.

Got 2 post holes dug and gateposts cemented in at our property line. Tried 3 weeks ago before snow, no luck. After 8” of snow melted dug like a hot knife through butter.

Ready to go back to work tomorrow—55 yo back can’t handle many days like today in a row…
