Hello all:
My B3350 is in the open here at -20 to 10F. It's a no start no crank after it stopped when I got off the tractor. Gut feeling is there is a safety switch not liking the situation. With the wind, I can only be out there 5 minutes at the time. A full service manual would greatly help getting this thing diagnosed. I don't mind paying, but can't find a pdf version anywhere.
Thanks

Rob

Hey Rob - Welcome to OTT!

I'm sure others more knowledgeable than I will chime in and set me straight but I believe the B2650 is in the same series with a smaller engine so it may get you in the ball park for trouble shooting the safety switches. The B3030 may also. Click the link to find those WSM's. Hopefully someone here can point you to the specific manual you need.

For a signal to be sent to the starter, the HST pedal needs to be in the neutral position and the PTO lever needs to be disengaged.

If the HST pedal interlock is slightly off, try slowly sweeping the pedal forward and backwards while holding the key in the start position. You may find that there's a sweet spot where the safety switch is made.

I once had the WSM for the B3350 but deleated it after selling my B3350.

Was it performing a regeneration when it stopped or you turned it off? The controller does not like regeneration procedures to be interrupted and doing so can cause a no crank in some situations. Any regeneration lamps, buzzers or other issues?

Be advised that Kubota offered (don't know if still available) a cold weather package for the B3350 to help prevent regen issues in cold weather. Might want to get one if you do not already have it. Mine was provided without charge (in 2018) but you must ask for it.

The B2650 and B3030 are completely different control systems.
If he tries to use either of those to figure out his issue he's just going to end up a frozen confused popsicle.🥶

Actually the b2650 wsm is the b3350 wsm it's for both models. I have both the printed version and the downloaded one from the link above.

Hello Rob,
As @SDT mentioned, at one time Kubota offered what they called a "cold weather bra" for the B3350. I'm not sure if they offer it for free anymore. It's quite expensive to buy if it's even still available.

I still have the pattern for the cold weather winterfront covers I make that fit both the B3350 and the B2650. Plus, its a 3 piece set (two sides and the front cover) for less money.

If interested, check out the Vendors page Here or start a conversation with me, I'd be happy to help you out with a set of nice covers for your B3350!!

David

Edit: It looks like that front bonnet cover may still be available from Kubota. Their part # & description: #77700-06480 Front Snow Mask $675.04 US funds. Yikes!!

The Kubota package also included a decal for the air intake and, IIRC, a modified air intake to draw air from behind the radiator.

Once upon a time, Kubota would give the package to owners of B3350s (only) if they lived in cold climates and asked for it. Don't know if such is still so but doubt it.

The cold weather package wouldn't help with the no start condition. I just got this tractor along with the house I bought last November. I believe the block heater doesn't work either as there is no spark at the plug when I plug it in. Normally when it is quiet, you should hear the block heater work just like an electric kettle. Before this issue, this tractor was very difficult to start. It required an extended glow plug engagement. After starting, the engine would barely run and then stall. This happened several times before it actually starts running well.

Agreed. Nor did I imply that it would. Re-read my earlier post.

Nevertheless, once you have solved the no-start issue, you might wish to investigate the cold weather package.

FWIW, as you have recently acquired your B3350, I strongly suggest that you read the part of the Operator's Manual relating to the emissions systems and follow the instructions PRECISELY. The reformer-based emissions system on the B3350 is unique to that engine and I can GUARANTEE that you will have expensive problems with your B3350 if you do not. This is why I asked you in an earlier post if your engine was performing a regeneration operation when it stopped or you shut it off.

Ok, thanks. I will definitely educate myself on this.
It will be in your best interest if you do.

Good luck, and post back if you have questions regarding your B3350. I once owned one, have been down this road, and consider myself a bit of a B3350 expert.

Edit: I just searched my archives and found that I still have the B3350 WSM as well as much additional information relating to the unique and problematic emissions system used on the 3350 in PDF. I'm not sure if this can be sent by email due to size but will assist if possible.
