BX won't go in reverse.

I have a BX24. I've read other posts on here about this problem so I checked the safety shut-of for the seat and topped up the hydraulic fluid. I even boosted the battery but it still stalls as soon as I push down on the reverse pedal. One other thing - the exhaust is black at start-up. Any suggestions?

It struggles to start in this cold weather, but once it starts it's fine.

If it's only stalling in reverse its more than likely an issue with the HST safety switch.

Struggles to start? Just checking: are you using the glow plugs correctly?

I would troubleshoot one problem at a time.

Forget about the black smoke at start up for now.

First, get a “zip tie” (or similar) and bypass the seat switch by closing the switch manually, then trying to move it, and report back.
