Update: I added a little refrigerant, probably 3-4 ounces (my scale setup failed), and drive tested it on a couple of our hottest afternoons. I don't see any oiliness of a leak, so I think it's good.

This whole episode is typical for me. Seems like I always have to finish somebody else's job, so anything I'm capable of, I do myself.

Of course, now I have the 'how did we do' survey request. Well, they did real good on everything else, but not so good on the AC, even after I notified them, so that's what I'll say.
Well, as long as shes cooling good to you then mission accomplished. I hate you had to go through that though.

The oiliness is what we look for to. Although several manufactures have dye in the system from factory, I haven't actually used any dye for several years now. Easy enough to find leaks with the right procedure.

I hope you can keep the hood shut on that ole girl for a while.

I haven't been feeling well lately but decided to make a little video for fun. Just needed to do something to get mind off things and I been wanting to try out the receiver hitch I put on the ballast box! No rhyme or reason for the video...simply for fun to see how it worked.

N.Y,
My Kubota got a break, just sat back and watched after bringing the tools out 😃. Had this bush that was supposed to be a dwarf we planted about 20 years ago. We'll now it is twice the height it was supposed to grow to so time to remove.
20250722_104639.jpg

Wasn't a simple cut at bottom. Was so dense had to cut individual branches to get at the stem
20250722_104702.jpg
20250722_104746.jpg

Then the trunk was about 10 inches diameter. Couldn't believe how big it was.
20250722_110801.jpg

Cleaned up and stump ground now. Back to regrading the side of the house for better drainage after the town raised our road redirecting runoff to the front yard. I need 300 feet of French drain next and can't believe the price of 6 inch perforated pipe and 3/4 inch stone these days.

Raked the "pasture" at the neighbor horse farm and mucked out the paddock area...have to deal with that mess tomorrow evening.

didn't get a "finished" shot of the raking. I was running out of daylight and covered in dusty horse shyt.

Decided to finally move the shed. It's not a professional job, it's already on a overbuilt pressure treated platform.

PXL_20250723_151411998.jpg

Cleaned out the area and leveled it the best I could. I had to spend a lot of time getting all the concrete pavers leveled and I filled in the rest with stones I stole from the brook 🤣

I forgot to take a picture, it was hot and I was just trying to get it done.

I did cover with landscaping paper first though. It's way better than what I did before which was literally placing it on top soil. To be fair it was fine for years! It's not a heavy structure and it's all plastic.

PXL_20250723_184625381.jpg

Man this was so much easier to move than the side by side that I used to move it the first time and had to put the snow plow on the sxs to move it in place. With the tractor I was able to strap it the pallet fork frame and lift it up and then gentle set it in place!

PXL_20250723_200506002.jpg

Did the best I could grading it. Still going to need more work but I was running out of time and need more meterial. I'm in no rush. Just wanna make sure I can get the lawn mower out and in, which I can.

I think it came out pretty well. Now I have neat little place to put some of the attachments. It's all a learning experience for me, plus I had fun!!

got the paddock area cleaned out. I wound up removing the two bottom fence boards to clean out between the posts. The whole area should now drain properly. I took a couple of loads of "horse enriched" dirt to my place for future use.

It came out pretty good, just forgot to get a final pic.

Looks great. I am getting close to adding a rake or something similar. Do you use the angle and offset much when you use the rake? Any suggestion is helpful. )I have a thread just started in implements section if you are willing to give some input I would appreciate any inputs /advice you have to share.

Mowed my BIL's property and then moved some implements around. Got a call from the department of highways that they were looking for a spot to dump 4-6 tandem truck loads of clean fill. Told them I'd take it all. It should start coming tomorrow weather permitting.

Tires and loader shipped last week and should be here now. I plan on stopping by to pick up some parts for the RTV and see if there has been any progress. Realistically, I expect mid to late August.

I have a few contacts with them and it's its usually straightforward getting regular maintenance done. I may end up with more from the sounds of things since they have another job to do out here.

Call your local foreman/supervisor and see if they have anything going on in your area. My bunch likes to get rid of it locally to save on trucking.

Yesterday I completed the very small watering hole that I dug out with the L2501 a week ago.

My soil is loamy sand with little to no clay content so it is either truck in clay, install a vinyl type pond liner or use bentonite.

When I arrived yesterday the "basin" was still damp from the rains the day before. I added six 50lb bags of sodium bentonite. This watering station will rely on just rain water so I am sure it will be at times full, damp, or dry depending.

My 14 year old "old lady" kept a close eye and made sure I was spreading the bentonite to her satisfaction. :)

Piddled around a bit yesterday with the grapple and a new chainsaw mill and guide to learn how to use it. I think I have learned that chainsaw milling isn’t going to be nearly as much fun as I hoped. Need to scatter some sawdust where I tweaked my saw stand and tested my new toys.

Got up this morning and put the bucket back on so we could add some more decomposing chips to the mosh pit in the new chicken run. The chips keep the run from getting muddy and sloppy and attract things the girls like to eat. Pretty amazing how fast they’re breaking down the mulch with their scratching and pecking. The run is half gravel (89-10) so they can get out of the muck when it’s wet, and a pit with organic stuff in it to keep them busy so they’ll leave each other alone. There were camel crickets, night crawlers, and all sorts of beetles and roaches in the pile of chips, so they’re some happy chickens today. There was a huge millipede as well, but I chucked it out. I made the run with modular fence panels. It only took about 5 minutes to remove two of them so I could use the tractor to put 5 more buckets of chips/mulch in the pit. Beats the heck outta climbing stairs with a wheelbarrow and a bucket is about 6 loads in my wheelbarrow. Never mind only having to manually handle the chips one time to spread them out. I don’t have to work nearly as hard on yard work now.
