Do any of you use diesel oil additive in your Kubota engines? I have a 2014 B2650 with 269 hrs on it. Years back on the farm I used Konklin oil additive in my diesel tractors
Thanks for your input

No. The new high performance synthetic diesel oil is fantastic and doesn’t need additives.

I have never seen a need to.

Like mentioned above, oils these days are very good.

I have well over 750,000 miles on my diesels (combined) and have never used any oil additives.

Any of you remember the Slick 50 craze back in the early 90s? 😄
I had a chevy pick up with a 4.3 V6. Them valves made so much noise on start up, I was at the point of tearing it apart. Was at I think K mart ( so you know how long ago that was), they had a slick 50 display and were dumping it all like a buck a throw. What the heck for a buck Ill try anything once. Next oil change it went in, next morning went to work, same thing the valves sounded like they were going to come out,,, then,,,,, nothing, purred like a kitten after that for 240K. And oh for the tractor diesel oil Mobil diesel, and in the HD M1 15w40

No snake oil. Most all engine oils these days are so good there is nothing you can do to improve on them. Rotella T-6 5W40 in my tractor. Actually since it's convenient to use, it's in all my outdoor equipment. (walk behind Honda mower and Toro Snow Blower).

My dad would say to buy quality oil and forget about adding anything. This from a man who had a neighbor that sold Hydro-Tex. Got a sample of gas additive that destroyed my brothers Suzuki and some rear end lube that was in both 190xt Allis Chalmers when the rear ends went out in the same field on the same day during fall plowing. Nuff of that noise. I use Cenex oils for engine oils and Kubota UDT in Kubota and John Deere Hy-Gard in John Deere. It isn't always just the cost of repair but the down time that will cost more.

I put whatever is listed in manuals or by the manufacturer. No additives or anything like that. Oil is already getting expensive enough without adding to it. With only 269hrs on your tractor I can’t imagine why you’d be wanting to put additives in the oil. Technically going by my tractors maintenance schedule for oil change you would only be one oil change in. Given its a 2014 I hope your not but still that tractor hasn’t been around the block very many times.

You can run Sea-Foam through your diesel engine. Is there a problem you are trying to solve?

Personally, I'd consider switching to synthetic if you want it to run a bit better/quieter.

I used diesel kleen for 15 years. Now I just recently switched to archoil diesel service. I get 110 gallons of diesel at a time, it lasts me nearly 2 years., I want to keep it fresh. There are some tractors I use very sparingly, so fuel might sit in the tank for 2-3 years.

If your engine oil benefits from an additive, you are using the wrong engine oil.

No, why mess around with a good thing when my Rotella T6 5W-40 contains all the ingredients for a smooth clean running engine in all weather conditions?
I do add a bit of Sea Foam fuel treatment to my diesel as a stabilizer and deposit cleaner. SF has had a starkly noticeable positive effect on all my old gas engines, 2 or 4 cycle, cars and equipment.
So the car and truck get a tank treatment with SF with every oil change.
And my power tools jerry cans are always treated at can filling time, including the tractor diesel.
But never put anythng in the Kubota's oil.
