    So, I ended up removing the shaft with the bearing still on it, then pressed the bearing off. I had looked through the service manual, and the parts diagram and concluded that if I removed the shaft nothing would drop inside. I will have the new bearing on tomorrow and try to reassemble it...

    Not with a compact, but rather a single stage garden tractor, I had good luck with a product called slip plate. It came in a spray can and it was a graphite spray and worked very well.

    I ran into this years ago. I can vouch for the atf/acetone mix. I use kano kroil. But the atf/acetone is really great. Just remember to mix just what you want to use. The acetone evaporates off quickly.

    I have a new to me B1550 HSD The three point lift lever seems spring loaded to raise the hitch. I can push it down and hold it at a level with the stop block, but I thought that it was more of a set the height system??? The operators manual I was able to find online does not talk very much...
