    New battery

Bought my 2009 B26 TLB used May 2011 with 50 hours on it. I've never replaced the battery and I'm pretty sure its the original. So its at least 10 if not 13 years old. Starts as good as the day I bought it (knock wood).

    Best anti-theft wiring advice

I used to pull a battery cable off and remove the hood release pull rod on my B26. With a bit of practice (hood up) I was able to hit the hole in the connector bracket at the top with the hood closed. I could usually connect up, release the hood, and be back in business in a couple of...

    Replace Hydrolic Oil?

Two gallons is probably somewhere between 1/4 - 1/3 the total load. I'd definitely drain the oil, replace with SuperUDT2 and change both the hydraulic and HST filters while you're at it. The Kubota's HST transmission is a whiner to begin with and running the wrong oil will probably increase...

L2501 HST noise - more of a screech than a whine

Ricky, I've got a 2009 B26TLB and listened to both videos. Judging by the level of engine noise I'd call that HST whine about normal but maybe a little bit more pronounced than mine. Hard to tell without being there in person. Also not sure how warmed up the oil is in video but you'll get a...

    Any B26 owners out there?

Should have 4 bolts there - went out this morning just to make sure mine (2009) was OK. Can't imagine scenario where someone shears heads off 2 out of 4 major fasteners and walks away?? My guess is either factory or last to work on the left axle case used bolts that were too long and when they...

B26 Broken Gear Teeth in Right Rear Differential Housing

Mine is a 2009 with just under 650 hrs. and fortunately I have never had any drive train issues. Can't see how use of 4wd matters in this part of the drive train and you said you don't use diff lock (which still shouldn't matter unless you drove it in circles on pavement a lot with the lock...

    HST Whine

Did you use Kubota filter for transmission? Kubota HST's are very filter sensitive (something I learned the hard way). Got a bad WIX filter that gave me increased whine and degraded cold weather performance, finally changed both Hydraulic and Transmission WIX filters I used for Kubota and...

    Hydraulic heater question

Highmarket, With a hydrostatic tranny I recommend you bond a silicon pad heater to the bottom of your hyd. reservoir. Its a large flat surface and given heat rises its the best place to warm maximum oil. Not that familiar with magnetic heaters and would be concerned it could get snagged and...

B26 Hydraulics fine, but won't move (much).

galstaf, Glad you found and resolved the issue, however one of the purposes of the rubber elbow is to help uncouple the suction hardline from engine vibration. Depending on the age of your tractor the old elbow part number (32741-39150 HOSE SUCTION) has been superseded once if not twice which...

B26 Hydraulics fine, but won't move (much).

galstaf, There's no mesh screen but there are 2 filters, the Hydraulic filter mounted on the right side of the tank and the HST filter mounted on the left side of the transmission. I'd definitely replace both, the Hydraulic filter is my bet on which was giving me trouble since its before the...

B26 Hydraulics fine, but won't move (much).

Does performance get better after oil has warmed up? How many hours on the machine, what brand of hydraulic filters are you using, and how recent since they were changed? The B26 does not have a separate pump for HST, it has one 2 stage pump. There's one stage for power steering and the...

    B26 safety kill problem

Jon, you didn't say but assume you checked the weight setting on the presence switch? If the weight suspension knob is set too high it can work OK until you lean forward or take any weight at all off the seat allowing a slight seat rise and contact is broken. Also make sure seat direction...

    B26 FEL Hydraulic Issues

On your B26 the "tie rod" should be a 1 1/4" piece of pipe that passes thru both sides of each quick hitch "pad" bracket and is continuously welded at each pass -thru (4 pl.). If you're able to get relative movement of one pad to the other with no implement attached, the pipe or the welds are...

    Suggestion on Tractor Security

Not sure how your hood release is configured but I used to disconnect one cable at the battery and remove the hood release pull rod before closing the hood on my B26. It would take me a couple minutes of trial and error to coax the pull rod back into its hole when I came back but it kept...

Mower Gear Box - grease or SAE 80?

I rebuilt a rotary tiller that I couldn't get the main shaft seal for. One of the reasons it had been abandoned was the drive chain and sprockets had been trashed probably from lack of oil then someone tried to pack it with grease. After rebuild I filled gear box and side chain reservoir with...
