B1700 dash lights & oil gauge not working

Actually I think I may have figured this out - at the back of the instrument cluster there's a membrane with printed circuits. Looks like some of the tracks are corroded where the membrane folds in to make contact with the multi connector. I'll try and find some printed circuit repair paint and...

B1700 dash lights & oil gauge not working

So after my little tumble she's running well but I seem to have lost most of my dash lights and the temp gauge. The only dash light working is the glow plug indicator. I don't have the battery, oil pressure or hazard indicators, and the temp gauge stays at min. I removed the cluster, gave...

Help! RCK60-24B rebuild, something isn't adding up!

Just giving this a bump in case anyone else has any ideas about that wobbly spacer?

B1700 run upside down, in water.

Thanks everyone for the tips and the kind sentiments, sorry I didn't acknowledge that earlier but I really appreciate it. The rear tyres are water filled and the FEL was down - difficult to see any additional weights helping in this particular scenario. One of the things I have to constantly...

B1700 run upside down, in water.

In this scenario, a seatbelt would probably have killed or seriously injured me - although I could have been killed or seriously injured without it too, I was just lucky it wasn't a higher slope or a deeper dam. But I think it's well recognised that a seatbelt should only be worn with a ROPS...

B1700 run upside down, in water.

It looks precarious, and it is, but we were only moving it a few inches at a time and constantly adjusting the two chains, chocks, planks etc. Finally we got it out onto solid ground and towed it round to the shed. There was really no physical damage, it had rolled in quite gently and I rolled...

B1700 run upside down, in water.

This morning I got another chain and come-along attached to the back of my ute (out of pic) and there was a lot of this:

Later in the evening I figured I'd see what a chain block on that willow might be able to do. As it happens, it was able to do this. It is still on very unstable ground and would roll back in if it weren't for the chains holding it up:

B1700 run upside down, in water.

So this was yesterday afternoon. In hindsight I can see that it didn't actually get very wet:

B1700 run upside down, in water.

Yep. Using the FEL to fill in part of a dam. I knew the new fill was soft and I was watching it, but late in the day the front right (downhill) wheel suddenly sunk deep and the whole thing gently rolled over to the right and didn't stop until it was upside down in about a foot of water...

    Lining the mower deck??

Don't bother with anything fancy - just paint them with used engine oil. I learned this trick from other mowing contractors and I'm constantly amazed how well it works. All my decks have a beautiful non stick surface, and rarely need cleaning.

Help! RCK60-24B rebuild, something isn't adding up!

Reckon you can add another one to your list! Bota book says replace them every 2 years IIRC. Another lesson learned the expensive way :( It's the pulley boss - the spacer sits in greasy heaven on the shaft between it and the bearing. I guess it aims to protect the bearing by transferring any...

Help! RCK60-24B rebuild, something isn't adding up!

Hi all, I'm rebuilding my deck after the gearbox failed. It's taken me a while to get back to it, and while I'm pretty sure my old parts are well organised, I'm already stumbling. First problem is with the gearbox / centre spindle. I'm reusing a spacing collar (#170), that slips over the shaft...

    Finish mowers spindle problems

Does anyone know if the 08101-06205 bearing (as used on most decks, apparently) is available as a generic part? If so, do you have specs and/or third party mfr part numbers?

Hi mate, hope this isn't too cheeky but a while back you helped a bloke with an RCK60-24B mower deck - he asked about the gearbox oil spec and you said you had the operator manual. Are you able to help me the same way?! Just the correct (synthetic) oil spec would be a great help, but if you are...
