I'ed bet it's underrated by at least 10HP, manufactures like to protect themselves. You do need to run at it's spec PTO speed, probably 540. If you can make it fit, I wouldn't be too worried about using it.

I would buy a new rider, preferably zero turn. Putting a mid mount on these tractors makes them useless for anything else. A smaller zero turn will be faster and probably can be had under 3 grand. For 11-12 hundred you can buy a new rider that will last for years. Nothing wrong with the options...

I bought hardware store hooks, the one with the pin for a chain. Removed the pin and welded 3 of them to the top of my bucket. Haven't broken or bent one in 10 years of heavy use on a 47 HP tractor. Doesn't have to be pretty to work.

I fully understand the reasoning behind shutting the fuel off on a gas engine. All 3 of my tractors are diesel never saw a reason (for my use) to own a gas tractor.
