Aftermarket hydraulic oil like TSC or Walmart most likely does not had all the proper additives needed for your tractors hydraulic system and transmission. If you use an aftermarket fluid you should check to make sure it meets the current standards for Kubota. Not using the proper fluid can cause serious and expensive damage to your tractor.

Well, I went ahead and bought everything for 600 hr service from dealer. DIdn't want to mess around with the other stuff. I spent most of my cash on this and don't want to ruin it to save $40 when I spend $9500.. :) I look to be doing this soon.

I did manage to get 62 posts in the ground. The post hole equipment was proabably a little too big for my tractor as it was tough to raise it at times while in hole. But definitely a 2 man job and some cold ones and we got her done. I was impressed that the tractor temp gauge never went past normal operating temp, nothing is leaking or broke after the job was done, except 15 shear bolts. lol

Well I did my service, some things to share.

Hyro screen wasn't too bad but I couldn't see through it looking at the sun. Soaked in Diesel fuel and wow, to my suprise there was a spring in there. lol Makes sense now. But wow, what a difference changing the fluid made. I can pick the tractor up with FEL with me and my son on it, with the deck and nothing on 3PT. Really suprised and happy.

Changed the fuel filters and when I took the old ones off hardly any fuel flowed. Put new ones on and wow.. Not sure if that is normal, but doesn't look like filters were ever changed.

Everythings ready to go, and most of the big stuff I needed to do is done. ha ha.. Now I can spread gravel and use it like I wanted to.

Thanks..

Good to hear that. It is amazing what proper servicing can do to the performance of our tractors. A littler dirt and grime here and there really adds up to decreased performance.

Great news indeed, glad you got it working, these little tractors are really handy.

Yeah I was suprised my self. did some grading and little clearing out, so I will check oil in the morning. Didn't fit near the amount of oil the manual stated so I will double check dipstick in morning.

Are you referring to engine oil or hydraulic oil.

If you took out the screen and changed the hydraulic filter then that should have gotten most of it. I think there is also drain in the middle of the transmission.

If it is engine oil then maybe only one side of the oil pan was drained. If I remember correctly there are two drain plugs, one for each side of the oil pan. The drive shaft tunnel is between the two sides that need to be drained. Maybe I'm thinking about one of my other toys - er, tractors.

Haven't serviced the BX in a while.

I changed both.. However, the manual states 3.8 gallons of UDT2 in Tranny, and I put 3 in it, and it was at the top line on the dipstick. I have since ran it so maybe the fluid got into the lines and will look at level. But I emptied it all and only one nut to remove for engine and hydro oil.. Engine oil was as black as the ace of spades. It looked like syrup coming out.. I'm sure it was over due..
