Cool, most people dont.
I feel kind of sorry for my 'ol buddy who would now be full retirement age. I doubt he has enough credits on file to claim SS/MC. I hope he stays in good health 'cause he's going to work until the day he dies. And the friend who held title to the house he 'owns' died a few years ago so I have no idea how he's still there. These are two subjects not to touch on if/when I ever get back to my home town to meet up with him. I have no doubt he has come up with some creative new ways to exist in his older years.

You definitely wouldn't of taken part on Dec 16, 1773
They were paying taxes to England with no benefit to the colonies. Currently all first world countries tax citizens to provide a first world standard of living.

Well people are free to find a tax free nirvana country to live in. Africa is full of them. Nothing is free and we pay for CNN our lifestyle. Not paying taxes means that someone else is supporting the services for those who don’t pay.

Then lets stop the lie that we are a "FREE" country.

The symbolism between red and blue goes much further than republicrate and demicans:

Which pill is good, red or blue?

Morpheus offers Neo two pills and an ultimatum: if he takes the blue pill, Neo will wake up in his bed none the wiser; if he takes the red pill, he will uncover the Matrix, but there will be no going back. Neo chooses the red pill and is able to see the true nature of his world.May 22, 2025

Nothing in life is free. We all contribute to our society; otherwise it’s survival of the fittest and chaos. If you want totally free, there are small islands for sale. You can be king of your own free country.

Its not about finding 'nirvana' but in restoring some accountability - to we the people. It used to be that the 'church' helped the needy but quit because Gov't took over the function. It used to be that neighbors got together to do road maintenance as needed but Gov't took that over. People used to handle the education of children and the local level but the Gov't took that over. It used to be that people protected themselves but Gov't took over that function. And on and on like the frog in the heating water. Now if the Gov't doesn't provide a function someone will run for office with a promise to make it so and people fall all over themselves to get that person elected. Representatives are quite popular when they have a track record for getting more money back to their district than was paid into the system. It's foolish and selfish but ironically its the person who wants to be free that is scrutinized.

Somehow the whole lottery mentality factors into this in that you get a windfall that other people worked to provide. It only cost you $2 or $5 or whatever....

Yeah, I grade my own private road but I prefer that the state and county do the public roads. I contribute to my church to help the needy ( Catholic charities), but churches don’t put a dent in the overall needs. Yes, we used to be a small rural population and the way you describe things worked for that kind of society. Public education has been around for 200+ years and has served this country well. I shake my head when I see kids being “schooled” by parents who barely completed high school. Those days are over. We are a country of 330 million people with complex needs for society. You can run to an isolated rural area to escape, but this remains a reality.

I believe people should be jailed for child abuse when they send their children into the public school system.

I believe they should be jailed for denying their kids a proper education by home schooling from a parent with a 10th grade education. And this is all too common; I see it a lot.

Oh, one of the benefits of public schooling is youngsters get to choose what sex they are that day! Or they can choose to be an animal for that day and no one gets to make fun of them if they are in the "safe" area. Their parents are not made aware of this activity by the school.

The parent with a 10th grade education can do better then our education system to eliminate the handling of gender identity or gender expression public schools permit.

The focus on preparing a youngster to be a productive member of society has been eroding for years.

🤪😴. You watch too much sensationalized news. Something happens somewhere and you assume it happens everywhere. It doesn’t. My two sons attended public schools and graduated within the past decade. Never did they hear about choosing their sex or being animals. One has a Masters degree in finance and works in the business office of a steel company; the other is completing his PhD in biology and headed for a university teaching career. Even though I have a few college degrees, I could never have home schooled them in the full range of subjects that they learned in public schools. I’m not an expert in every subject; that’s why teachers specialize: some in math, some in life sciences, some in literature. Nobody is expert in every subject area.

The people of this rural, conservative area I moved too, would not allow the school to install litter boxes for the human children. But they tried.
