Yup, beaten to death but... a little different.

BX25D BH taken off in cooler weather, set on a Dolly. Had the locks in, the stabilizers cinched with a ratchet tie down. Was sure to bled off the pressure.
Went to re-install. Hydraulics not connecting.OK, I read the drill about tapping the center pin to relieve pressure.Instead, a light rap with a rubber mallet on the Power Beyond coupling and it popped in place, relieving all pressure and the snapped in. Great! :) Someone should make a coupling to snap on when the hose is removed to keep the pressure bled off....

So here is the real Q:
Got the BH raised to insert the lock pins on the side. The right side pin went in 75% of the way and hit resistance. It was a slight pain to get the right one out last spring. Light tapping with the rubber mallet got it in. No amount of boom movement made it 'loose'. The left side, slipped in no problem. I suspect something is out of alignment. I'm hoping loosening some bolts then re-tightening them is all I need to do and nothing is bent @NorthIdahoWolfman ..... With your uncanny ability to ID parts, can you suggest what bolts to do or what I should do to 'square it up?

Not much of any bolt action Adjustment can be done to align it.
Polish the pins, Polish the holes, use good grease on the pins.
Dry fit the pins in the mount without the BH in place and in the BH, if something doesn't line up or slip easily there, you might find it, and be able to help line it up.
I've seen quite a few of the BH pin holes that one of the tabs has gotten clipped and slightly bent, and that makes it really hard to align.

I understand.I suspect it is slightly bent from aggressive use of the BH tossing the tractor about. I'm a dolt for,m time to time., well all the time. Fortunately, its not bad, just a bit more than can be done by my old bare hands. At least I don't have to use a 8 pound helper.
When I take it back off in a few days, I'll put some time into seeing if there is a easy fix, like a burr. But deep down, I think its' tweaked.

You have a top shelf product that is very well engineered. If you need to use a sledge hammer you defintly have something wrong going on.

My story with my BH77 is it's very well used and well maintained. Probably 500 hrs of use. I back up to it, attach 2 quick connects, elevate with out riggers, back pins over hooks, lift outrigger dropping pins onto hooks, then with dipper/boom/swing cylinders I align the eyes one side at a time and slide pins in.

Bobs your uncle and Robert is your father's brother.

I am older than most and not quite yet considered ready for the glue factory and I can get mine on or off truthfully in about 2 minutes. Pins push in with no more than 2 fingers worth of pressure.

So I will guess you have something bent, burded, dirty or not greased.

Good luck! A little investigation and you hopefully wull find problem as using a sledge to put in 2 pins is not normal.

Cheers and good luck!

It helps to have the tractor/BH level and make sure that tire pressure is equal.

You are probably right.
I am lucky enough that my equipment pOle shed is the size of a large aircraft hanger. Downside is level concrete floors is a Cadillac luxury i could never justify. Uneven gravel base is all i get to work with.

No sledge!!! Soft rubber mallet. I could hit my leg with the mallet and not get hurt/bruised. I can 'almost' get the pin in by hand but it does not slip in like it did years ago.
I suspect it is tweaked. Since it is not just loosen the bolts and let it find itself, I'll have to figure out what is bent (my guess it is the inner pin bushing and not the BH frame or the outer as the pin slides into them fine.)
Have to get a straight edge and run it between all four bushings. Then figure out if its' worth spending the time to move one 0.010"
Dead flat polished concrete floor.Does take me five minutes to take off and two to put on use a dolly.

mine is a bh92. i am currently parking it on soft sand so it does shift and sink as it sits over the course of a few days when not in use.

i have found that its irrelevent if it or the tractor is on perfectly level ground.

when i got the tractor close i connect the hoses and lift the backhoe up with the stabilizers and back the tractor in to final position. lower it into the locks with the stabilizers. the lift with the boom. once its on the locks and lifted it really doesnt matter too much how level the ground is.

the pins will just slide in. you can force a little shift left right with the boom and a little tilt left right with the stabilizers if its not all exactly right
