Hey guys,

I decided to leave corporate America and get a lease on some land to start my little farm. A gentleman I know that farms told me he'd sell me his L4310 with 1200 hours on it. HST/ 43HP, 4x4

He's gonna make it very affordable for me as far as payments, he already has his new Kubota tractor and I already started using his old one. I gave him $1,000 down and he said we can figure out what the final price and monthly payments would be.

All I'm asking from my fellow orange enthusiasts would be: How much do you think his old tractor is worth? How much do you think he could get on Craigslist or something? How much would you pay for it. I checked the internet and there's really nothing too similar in the same condition.

The engine is solid but he left it in the rain and outside since day 1 so there is rust and holes in the body. The seat is detached but your bodyweight keeps it in place. I'm not sure if he ever really maintained it but it's never had any mechanical issues.

Check out the pic and let me know how much you'd honestly see it selling for or how much you'd pay. So please let me know.

Thanks,

Tractor House has a few of them for sale. The prices on there are kind of all over the place from a little a 7 grand without a loader to someone wanting 19 grand for a tractor with a cab on it.

I'd say somewhere in the area of 10 to 12k would be a safe number. Sounds like all you really need is a new seat and you'd be good to go.

Thanks Boss, yeah Tractor house was all over the place. I'm in Hawaii so even I bought from Tractor House I'd have to pay another $500-$1000 to ship to California and then another $1000 to boat over here.

Kubota used to be sold and serviced by Cat-Hawthorne locally here and now they keep getting tossed from dealer to dealer so I really gotta figure out how to maintain and service this machine myself.

Anybody that neglects the little things usually neglects the big thing in my experience. I'm looking at a postage stamp size pic on my phone but it looks rough and it looks like it needs tires. 10-12k with an effort to stay on low side of that bracket. Since you've already made a down pmt and are using the tractor you might find yourself kinda stuck with his value but hopefully he is a good guy and fair.

I purchased a L4610 HST 4 wheel drive with 189 hrs on it 6 months ago for $13500 plus $1200 for a 6' shredder. It also had been left out side all it's life. I had to polish paint but no rust ! All 4 loader cylinders had to have seals. $24 each and a little work on my part.
Good luck with your new tractor.

Well,

I just ironed it out with my farming friend. We settled on $4,500 with a mower attachment. This tractor is physically busted up and rusting away but I feel mechanically I got a great deal.

I'll be seeing you folks in the forum.

Thanks everyone!

You got a good deal unless its totally trashed. You can afford to rejuvenate it at that price.
