I wholeheartedly apologise to you & I too ask questions about everything. Moving tractor is not an issue...it's in a garage / workshop. My interpretation of your feedback was wrong & that was my failure, not yours. I think I reacted to using tractor without it being 100%. but when I see my own error, I will admit to it immediately & that's what I am doing.
I trust you've finished your 3 point speed control repair by now, but I have been searching for a way to repair mine for 2 weeks now, but I finally got it repaired. The retaining snap ring was the issue from the beginning. Mine had come loose and I completed screwed out the stem by accident. It had been leaking profusely before I started the repair. I was able to take the sheet metal loose where the stem goes thru, bend it over to the front and with the help of a 90 degree internal snap ring plier in the left hand and long screw driver in the right, successfully install the snap ring to hold everything in. If the stem is not prevented by the stopper from going further out, fluid will stream. It was not easy, but I got it repaired without taking the fuel tank off. While I was at it, I bought new parts to put onto the stem, so I hope I don't ever have to deal with this again.
