Hey fellas, I have called all my local kubota dealers to inquire about switching to r4 tires. They have all told me to go to a tire dealer. I currently have r1s on my 4wd l3010 and they just dig to much in the yard, especially with loader work. Fronts are 7x16 rears are 12.4x24. To me, the tractors I have seen with r4s typically have wider tires than the r1s. The dealerships have said I can run the same wheels and just change the tires, but wouldn't I need new wheels also? Because the tires are much wider? Any advice or help and what sizes I would need and where to get them from. Thanks yall

Certain models definitely have different wheels for different tire options but I am only seeing R1s listed for that model (at least on tractordata.com). Did it come with an R4 option from the factory as well?

From my research they also offered a turf tire option. Ofcourse they have different size wheel/tire combos for 2wd vs 4wd also. But I have seen plenty of this particular model for sale on the internet that are running the r4 tires.

I confirmed that there where a number of wheel options for that model but hopefully someone more familiar with it can tell you which will work with R4 tires.

My L3030 owner's manual shows Industrial (R4) sizes as:
Rear - 420/70-24
Front - 10-16.5 (like many skid steer tires)

Ok so cross referencing a bit they are 2 piece wheels for the rear for R4s and they are not cheap.

24" x 15" wheel (35060-27840) - $692 ea
24" disc (35080-27660) - $252 ea

Front wheels are one piece and less expensive.

16.5" X 8.25" wheel (TA040-42420) - $220 ea

Wise choice. There may be aftermarket options as well but I am not aware of any.

One other thing is that you might consider R14s. They supposedly make them for both R1 and R4 rims. That would save you the cost of new rims and still give the same offset.

These would fit your current rims and same diameter as your R1s, but $$$

I'm in a similar but different situation. I have turf tires and want to get into R1s or R4s. I have an L3710. If you go to sell these reach out to me please.
